Having read the thread of the most annoying sounds, we all seem to remember the ones that annoy the shit out of us pretty well, but how many of the great ones do we remember? What are the noises that always make you smile, laugh, or are just really cool?
I've always loved the Spy (at least, my memory tells me it was the Spy. Could have been the Sniper) from Red Alert 2, with his classic line "For king and country". So smooth, especially compared to Tanya and her obnoxious "Shake it, baby!" every thirty seconds.
More recently, the 'cha-ching!' noise whenever you gain XP on Fallout 3. When I hit level 20 before Broken Steel came out, I missed this noise so much I stopped playing the game!
My very favourite though, which to this day makes me smile when I hear it, is the noise of the original Dungeon Keeper's Summon Imp spell - that maniacal little cackle as they pop into existence, "Nyahahaha!". To make it even better, I'm about 90% certain that this noise is sampled on the Prodigy tune 'Poison'
So, those are mine. What are yours?
