Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy 9. I like most RPG music especially from the PSX era but that music is very moving.

Most of Wild Arms soundtracks consist of the best RPGs have to offer, and that includes Final Fantasy. Mega Man may have the most remixes of all VG soundtracks, and I'm not just talking about 'Wily 1'. The Zero series has some great headbanger music.

Touhou music is always good, and I've recently discovered one that I'm currently obsessing over.
Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest for the original Nintendo. Something about that 8 bit music, I just love it.
My favorit is Bloody Tears or Vampire Killer. They are the same song played with different insturments.

Star Control 2 music. My first post here was 'bout me favourite 'n game music.
I actually looked at the .mod files an' they are such simple compositin's. Around 8 or so different rhythms all assorted into place t' make the themes. (Not a music expert so I probably just used every wrong musical definitin' possible.)
But this game did so much with so little, especially with the music.

I'm a bit partial to fighting game soundtracks given I play those games the most. For me its Silent Hill, specifically the 3rd game. Sillent hill 2 is actually my favoirte game in the series but 3 had the best soundtrack. Its both ambiant and industrial, soothing and stressful, haunting yet beautiful. I have listend to it over and over again and while there are obviously times where i'm not in the mood for it, anytime its rainy or i know i'll be driving from dusk into nightfall its hard for me to resist the urge to pop it on and listen to it.
