Phoenix is pretty good too
Phoenix is not actually part of the X-Men. She incorporates the body of Jean. So technically that's a vote for Jean
But Jean can only pull of her full potential with the phoenix in her

I've always loved Wolverine, Gambit and Rogue for personality and powers. Favorite villain is always going to be Magneto for similar reasons and I can understand his view point. Mister Sinister's design was pretty cool so I guess he comes second.
OMG, You could be me
This is exactly my viewpoint and preference

Beast. Besides the fact that he's an interesting combination of attributes that are normally mutually exclusive, none of his various incarnations have ever come across to me as grating or 'extreme' even in the toons. He's made notably less mature in the Ultimate X-Men continuity but then the same goes for the rest of them too.

Fave villain will always be Magneto, Prof. Xavier's eternal rival and colleague. Most of the others often seem one-dimensional in their desires and motivations (Apocalypse, Juggernaut, Master Mold, etc.). Runner-up would be Mojo simply because I like detatched villains with bizarre outlooks on the world around them.

Deadpool. Cause fuck the xmen, and he's worked with them before.
+1, Merc with the Mouth FTW.

Also, Nightcrawler. Blue dude is agile as shit and can freaking teleport, plus he looks effing awesome.

Cyclops, although that may have a direct correlation with me being able to kick so much ass with him in MvC2...

From the X-Men it's gotta be Gambit. But if we're looking at the larger X-Men Universe it's a tie between Darwin and Longshot seeing as their both freaking awesome.

woah... big toss up between Mr Sinister, Apocalypse and Scarlet Witch... too hard a choice... I always though the Scarlet Witch was lame... then I actually realised what she could do (read the 'House of M' series... you'll understand)... but I think that Apocalypse has just been such a badass JERK throughout the entire series that my vote goes to him! I mean... he converted Wolverine, Hulk and Gambit, and in alternate realities, Spiderman and Mr Sinister at the very least... I know, he's insanely evil... but he's just to good to NOT vote for! Apocalypse!

Alison Blaire aka Dazzler

Given she even punched Galactus, let's see old canucklehead try that.
However Wolverine doesn't have THIS type of thing hanging over him...

Gotta love those rollerskates... and that disco ball necklace...

Colossus and Deadpool.
I don't really care much of others, because i'm not too familiar with X-Men.

My favorite lady X-Man was always Rogue, from the comics though, not the movie.

The movie saw fit to omit the whole part of her life as Mystique's adopted daughter and absorbing Ms. Marvel's powers of flight and super strength permanently, putting her in a coma. Of course if they had actually gone according to the comics, each film would have been roughly 8 hours long.

I've always liked Wolverine to some extent but definitely loathe his overexposure.

I also hated when they finally revealed his complete past and real name in the comics, it took away from his mystique (no pun intended). Though I've yet to hear about the plot points of the new movie, from what I've seen in the previews, they've apparently omitted the presence of Alpha Flight from his past. Of course, again, the movie story is not the same as the comic story (sadly).

Other favorite X-Men...

The Dazzler - When she was actually a member from way, WAY back in the day. The ability to turn light and sound into destructive energy has always sounded awesome to me.

The Beast - Because I love his personality. Logical, charismatic, humorous... and when pushed to far with no other alternatives, he WILL physically overpower you.

No knocking "The Disco Dazzler." Haha! I have a soft spot for those over-the-top 70s & 80s costumes. I'm probably one of the only people who liked "mo-hawk" Storm too. She looked like Wendy O'Williams from The Plasmatics.

I'm shocked anyone remembers Longshot, hehe. Funny enough, me and a friend were digging through some old DOS games recently and found X-Men II: Fall of the Mutants... and Longshot is a selectable character for your team. He looks WAY too happy to be there in his character portrait... and also resembles MacGuyver, haha!

Actually, it's probably best NOT to invoke any of the art from 70's X-men...hell, just forget ALL of 70's Marvel...
We got Power Man out of that (shudder)
