Yep. Throwing EXPLODING CARDS is the coolest thing you will ever see on any screen, period.
Grrr. How many times must it be said. They are not exploding they are charged with kinetic energy.
GRRR... The cards EXPLODE when they hit stuff, thus, even though the cards themselves are not EXPLOSIVE, they do EXPLODE, MAKING THEM EXPLODING CARDS! Are semantics really that big a deal that you HAD to call me out on them?

I have to agree with Mobius here. By definition, when something explodes it basically detaches from something (proper definition of explosion is the opposite of collision. So if you touch something it collides, and when you move your hand away that's technically an explosion. Blame A-Level physics for my knowledge of this.). The cards are ripped apart by their own energy, which causes an explosion, and the kinetic energy they are charged with is what gives them the energy to rip apart. The excess energy, of which there is lots, is then displaced to form the traditional explosion that we all know and love.

Yeah, I'm not really a sci-fi nerd or anything, but this is the most logical explanation I cn come up with given that I once tried to think up scientifically possible ways for superpowers to be real. As it happens, quite a few have been previously stated as possible by real scientists speciallising in genetics...
