THEN, a pandemic and economic crisis AND protests rip through the country, tearing holes in trump's approval, and his response is....to pretend it'll all go away on its own and instead focus on "protect the statues!" and sending federal goons to nab people, escalating anger further.

THEN THEN, not to be undone, the Biden campaign proceeds to triple down on anti-populism and offers zero reason to vote for them, in fact, taking reasons AWAY.

It almost feels like their advisors are both trying their hardest to throw the election, and it's MIND BOGGLING.

This part is making me dizzy. The "protests are getting Trump reelected" logic they're going with is baffling.

1) A surge in protests actually dragged down Trump's approval rating.
2) Federal government starts engaging with protests, approval rating increases a bit.
3) Democrats think the clashes with federal law enforcement are helping Trump. Which is sort of half true, but only in the sense that he's regaining some of the approval he lost when he was watching the country burn from a bunker.
4) Democrats turn on the protests, not because of any fundamental problem with the messages or property destruction, but because they now see the protesters as Trump allies.
5) Democrats say anarchists should be in jail.
6) The anarchists are pushed to become de facto Trump allies.

I don't know whether to be baffled by the multiple tiers of political incompetence, or to jump on the "Democrats are actually trying to lose on purpose" train.

Nah, the protests have been going on for 60 days against the cops due to their almost hilariously brutal crackdown in the first week after Floyd. Hundreds of broken bones and the entirety of downtown being gassed level brutal, with cops slashing the tires of random cars and gassing intersections of people just stuck in traffic.

The protests have been every night for a reason. They went nuts for a week then got told to “show restraint” so they started waiting longer to use gas or impact rounds, but they never stopped using either and continually targeted journalists, even saying that being a journalist is no defense from being targeted during an unlawful assembly (an obvious violation of the constitution). They’ve repeatedly arrested people on empty charges, held them overnight in unacceptable facilities, then released them with occasional federal charges for resisting arrest, including the press. Portland police are as garbage as any other police department, they just hide better and the mayor is more scared of looking fash because he’s in a close race.
