Welcome to the world privately funded educations got us. The Democrats are such a gutless party because that's what they're paid to be. The donor class has the political establishment by the balls. It's telling that when AOC talked about her orientation at Congress, all the new arrivals were made to sit and watch a lecture from a lobbyist to tell them "how this works."The stars must be aligned in some kind of eldritch sign, because this is one of those rare moments when we agree.
Like, yeah, it's likely political incompetence, because democratic party strategists are the dumbest mother!@#$ers in washington, only followed by republican strategists... But good looooord they never cease to fail so hard it looks like it's intentional. (And some, like pelosi, love having trump in the white house so they can fundraise off of fears of the stuff he's up to)
Like, against a highly aggressive proto-fascist goon who is only good at pretending to be a populist who wants to burn down the establishment...They run a senile old man who will change nothing, doing whatever they can to stop the actual real populist with grassroots support.
THEN, a pandemic and economic crisis AND protests rip through the country, tearing holes in trump's approval, and his response is....to pretend it'll all go away on its own and instead focus on "protect the statues!" and sending federal goons to nab people, escalating anger further.
THEN THEN, not to be undone, the Biden campaign proceeds to triple down on anti-populism and offers zero reason to vote for them, in fact, taking reasons AWAY.
It almost feels like their advisors are both trying their hardest to throw the election, and it's MIND BOGGLING.
Functionally the Republicans are the tip of the spear, explicitly advocating for the wealthy. The Democrats then are paid to act as the opposition that can't stand up to the mighty engine of capitalism and consequently lose. A party of thieves and a party of losers.
