Fuck PETA and their stupid moronic opinions!

And you know what they say about opinions and arseholes and PETA has plenty.

but who's to say what's false? By what method is the government to determine the truth or falsity of a statement? Would every bit of false information have to go through something like a court process?

The reason you can't say "Fire!" in a cinema, is because it disrupts people from watching the movie, which is bad for business. The Cinema puts in that rule in order to prevent loss of business. However, this isn't a restriction of freedom of speech, because its the Cinema enforcing this rule, not the government.
Well, no, not really.

The reason you can't say "Fire!" in a cinema (assuming there is no fire, of course) is because it would needlessly cause a hasty evacuation of a crowded building, during which people could get hurt, it would result in emergency services reporting to the scene, possibly diverting their attention from actual emergencies, and also would be needlessly harming the cinema's business.

In this case, PETA is harming consumers because it's blaming meat consumption for obesity, when the consumption of refined sugars and processed grains is a bigger part of the obesity problem. If you ate lots of Twinkies, snack chips, and white bread, you would still get fat; eating meat is not the only cause of the obesity problem.

And to what end is PETA promoting this incorrect viewpoint?

At the end of the day, PETA isn't interested in your health. They're interested in the well-being of animals, and you can go 'eff yourself as far as PETA is concerned. This is why governments are censoring these false advertisements.

It's not wrong to be concerned about the ethical treatment of animals, but lying to people is not the way to achieve that goal. If anything, this kind of stuff galvanizes the average person AGAINST PETA, and why not? If they're going to skew the facts to promote their own agenda, we shouldn't be rewarding them with our attention.

They're all in favour of not killing animals and "fur is murder, man, come here and let's drink carrot juice and sing kumbayah" but if an animal kills another animal it's just nature and we're animals so I'll whatever I want (not being human of course, we happen to be the only animals with LAWS...I call rage)

If PETA were to advertise an initiative to get kids interested in veggies instead of all meat is something I would respect. To call feeding meat to kids child abuse to do the same thing is taking the matter way too far.

If kids eating meat was an actual child abuse offense, how the heck would you explain it to the police? Rather, what policeman would give half a damn about it?

Wut?

So what they're saying is that rather than let kids decide what they want to eat, you should instead restrict their diet to foods that won't give them all the proper nutrients that they'll need to grow properly?

Meh, I've known for a while now that these people are either too radical or not right in the head. Perhaps both. As for me I'm going to go along with my well-rounded diet.

But of course I'm going to do my part to reduce animal cruelty. Here's the simple little plan I'm going to follow. I encourage other's to follow my lead.

This is the same group that put on the 'Got Beer?' campaign in which they claimed that beer was less unhealthy than milk. They're completely nuts and stuff like this shouldn't surprise anyone.

Let me preface this with the fact that I am a vegetarian. Feeding you kids meat does not equal child abuse. Over feeding your kids with horrible and over processed foods with little or no nutritional value arguably is. Meat is not bad for you... unless you have some kind of allergy or something.

ok, you are right. However, I don't think they're harming consumers.

I tried to think of a civil way to respond to this. I even looked at your 5 previous posts from your profile hoping to find something with intellectual value. On that note: cookies.

OT: There is nothing unhealthy about meat. Not eating meat almost always requires you to take a half-dozen vitamins and supplements just to get enough protein, amino acids, and essential minerals. Also, protein fills you up more and longer than carbs or fats so eating meat helps you to eat fewer calories and avoid obesity. Hence PETA, people for the eating of tasty animals.

As somebody who does not eat meat, even I think PETA are a bunch of idiots, mostly for their advertisements that portray sexism and incorrect information.

However, I do think that a parent who feeds their children meat are no more of a child abuser than somebody who doesn't. All the nutrition that you get from meat can also be obtained through other foods, and with the right dieting and nutritional planning, being vegetarian or vegan can be very beneficial for your health.
WROOOOOOOOOONG/nope.avi/etc

i seriously would like to know where vegans get this level of bullshit from. i don't care what pills you take, there are certain combinations of nutrients that work better and not so good when absorbed in a the same time-frame. no pill can do that, no vitamin can do that, and plus there is the whole lack of substance.

children are gullible, uninformed, and uneducated, just look at religion and drug dealers (if you notice most efforts are aimed at children). children take their parents views at face value, no consideration that they might be wrong. to inflict a lifestyle that requires extreme effort for barely livable conditions as marginal benefit to areas that can be fixed by just getting off one's ass is child abuse. plus you have the possibility of getting the holier than thou mindset cemented in place and that's just whole different box of frogs.
way to swallow an utterly retarded lie pandered by anti-drug group to children while calling them gullible etc. drug dealers have no interest in children because children have little to no money.

all the vegetarians i've know have been perfectly healthy and few had much of a high and mighty attitude. in this day and age its no real dificulty to be vegetarian and be in good health maybe you wont get nutrients in quite as perfect a balance as you would otherwise but its not going to make you 'barely living'. its just as easy to be a meat eater and be unhealthy and not just in terms of being over weight. so how about you do like peta should and keep your fucking nose out of other peoples business eh?

I myself find no need to profile-creep when all you've offered is something that predated even the Great Maddox Quote Revolution of '02. But thank God you clarified for us in the end.

Check me out. I've been abused all my life, eating Five-Meat Suffed pizza from Papa Murphy's whenever the opportunity arises. 17 years old, IQ of 131, 6 feet tall, and 145 pounds. I'm a mess. If only an organization of well-meaning idiots had come to save me!

Seriously, a propensity for obesity is an inheritable trait, affected by environmental factors. That ad would be more accurate if it said "Fat friends are child abuse."

The problem is not meat. The problem is cheap meat. The stuff at fast food joints, that's been coated in fat and grease. Meat is okay, when it's organic and fresh.

Slightly related: good hamburger vs bad hamburger

Bad hamburger: a half cm thick patty, with a low quality bun that melts into a starchy paste in your mouth.

Real hamburger: several cm thick patty, real whole grain bun. Call me an organic-f@g, but that shit tastes good, and you know it.

As Maddox once put it, for every animal you don't eat, I'll eat three. Now my son will also be eating an additional three. Making it so your kids don't eat meat should be a form of child abuse, as it will turn them into giant walking vaginas, or worse, vegan hipster pricks.
