The songs may not be uplifting, but it is an amazing album nonetheless.
For me personally the album was a letdown. They used to be unique. Now they are just like all other sympho bands.I can hear Turisas and Raphsody of Fire, but no Nightwish.
I have to respectively disagree. Personally, I... oh, wait I almost forgot.

There we go. Anyways, I personally like Annette a lot more than Tarja. Don't get me wrong, I loved old Nightwish because they were unique, but I did kinda get tired of Tarja's vocals over the years. For me there were a couple really good old Nightwish songs that I'd listen to over and over (i.e. End of All Hope and Nemo), but the rest were becoming pretty 'meh'.
Also, and I don't know if this is a fact since I obviously don't know the band in person, but I've heard that Tarja was pretty tough for Toumas to work with. Apparently she was really picky when it came to song writing and wanted everything her way, but from what I've heard Annette is a lot more open to Toumas' ideas. Again, don't know if that's true or not, but just what I've heard.
