WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP

Most races that didn't get another gender are simply because BioWare didn't have the time or resources to create and perfect a second set of models for each race.

She was an unseeable corpse under a tarp.

I know it's been explained more than once, but there's more evidence of the existance of female Turians. On Illium, if you wait around near a bar where there's a bachelor party you can overhear a conversation between a Human, a Salarian and a Turian with an Asari dancing on the table. Through the course of this conversation you learn that the Salarian is about to be married (or whatever the Salarians have instead.. a marriage contract, was it?), organised by the Human (the Salarian doesn't see the point at first, but he comes round later...)

Anyway, the Salarian is eventually convinced of the point of the party, and the conversation goes something like this:

Salarian: Okay, I guess I can see the point now: she [the Asari] is very attractive. But why are Humans an Turians attracted to them?

Human: Are you kidding me? The Asari look just like Humans! Look at their figure!

Turian: What are you talking about? That formation on their heads? They look exactly like Turians.

Human: Wait... you don't think the Asari are mind-controlling us to think they're attractive, do you?

Turian: Oh man. Don't ruin the Asari for me. Do you know how few female Turians there are on Illium?

Sorry that took so long.

Sexy

The female of course.

And is it just me, or does the guy look like he has a woman's private parts.

There was a batarian female. The one that greets you when you first arrive on Omega. Others refereed to the batarian as "she".

I noticed something in Mass Effect 1/2, their is no Female Turians, Elcor, Volus, Salarians, Krogans, and Batarians.

Maybe its just becuase I never did a quest with any (or just can't remember). Or maybe they don't have female counterparts much like Asari (though its hard to call them female technicaly if they don't have a male counterpart)

Anyone else just wonder this? I mean I could really care less but it was just so happenly on my mind.
Actually, there is a femlale Krogan in ME2! She's on Mordin's loyalty mission, lying on a table, dead...

As for the rest, they'll (hopefully) add the other genders in ME3...

Hopefully...

EDIT: Goddamn... ninja'd on all accounts

Damn I was going to mention this. It's more interesting for what it says about the Asari, but is still further evidence.

On the Salarians they are supposed to have a really low proportion of males to females. I think something like less than 5% of all Salarians are female it is somewhere in ME 1 codex.

Elcor well you'd probably have to look like a dog and I don't they wanted to have Elcor penises in their game.

Volus it is possible you could of already met one they are in their body suits and you mightn't noticed. They probably don't want to bother putting curves on the Volus like Tali.

Hanar can't imagine there is a big difference given their likeness to jelly fish. Well at least no difference we can detect.

Turians was probably just a lazy/ no point thing. Once agin we may not be able to tell. Given that to me they look lizard like they may not have breats like people do and just nipples. Not all spieces are mammals or even close to it. Turians for example have a completely differnet DNA make up than humans which makes our food toxic to them and vice versa.

Krogans well I can't imagine there being a lot left so that is their excuse.

There were a few female Krogans, one dead in a hospital, another on the krogan homeworld.

You see one on an operating table in the blood pack's base during the loyalty mission and I think another one is an ambassador from one of the female clans near the shaman

Well Asari are specifically said to be an all female race, so that's why you'd never see an asari male. As for Volus and Hanar, I imagine it would be hard to tell the difference(at least at first glance; Volus because they're in suits (unless there was some extreme sexual dimorphism) and Hanar because they're freaking space-jelly fish. Salarians have a reason for not having many females around, they are comparatively rare and so hold positions of power on their worlds, so there isn't much of a chance to randomly see one. Krogan and Elcor females are probably very close to male, but you don't really see them for the same reason as the Batarians, Turians, and Drell: the extra effort that the game designers would have to put into making the models for each of the different sexes. I imagine that the Asari use the same core model as the human female (probably just reskined). I hope that we see some of the females of other species in ME3, just for some variety.

As for the Volus I don't know. I don't remember if they have two sexes. Even if they did though, I'd imagine that they look very similar to the males.

Female turians don't look what you think they look like. Fun fact, they don't have boobs. If the groundskeeper is any indication at least. He mentions that they have no boobs.

He starts talking about it at 0:44 or so.

So yeah, not every female creature has boobs. You have no idea what they look like. Or sound like. Or anything really.
Yeah, what's up with those funny bumps? They do tend to "get in the way" alot.

I think a lot of fan-girls would disagree regarding Turians.
They love themselves some Garrus.
yes, but unless they are lesbian fangirls, they're not gonna care much about female turians, nomatter how sexy you make them

I hope its in the third, if been whining for some time that the uglier races don't get females. It makes the universe seem shallow. They do have at least one female hanar already tough, it was on the porn mag cover.

Yeah, but she was covered with a blanket on a metal slab and the camera never showed her, plus she was dead and stuff so I don't think I wanted to see her anyway.
That didn't do it for ya? Oh well.. Then theres a live one standing around in the Krogan city/ruin.

Didn't notice her before I heard her voice..

Really, the only females worth putting in would be Salarians, Turians, Krogans and Batarians.

Volus = in suits. Elcor = ... Elephants. Hanar are just big, stupid jellyfish.

What. *poker face*

OT: As everyone's said, for those with noticable gender differences at least it mostly it seems to be a time/money issue, though that being said, I don't expect many more to appear in ME3 anyway. If any female major characters are brought in then perhaps we'll see others scattered throughout the game but aside from female turians it seems unlikely they'll spend the time creating new character models, animations, voices etc.

It'd be bloody brilliant if they did though! And Bioware does seem to pay some attention to it's fans..

P.S. I'm not meaning to offend you, Casual Shinji, your avatar's awesome!
