huh, must have not noticed...
You see one on an operating table in the blood pack's base during the loyalty mission and I think another one is an ambassador from one of the female clans near the shaman
I think you're the sixth person to say that.
You're the seventh person to mention it.

Turians are probably not sexy enough to warrant female counterparts.
WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP

Most races that didn't get another gender are simply because BioWare didn't have the time or resources to create and perfect a second set of models for each race.
That was my second guess.

It's probably the same reason why we don't see any fat people in Mass Effect.

Yeah, but she was covered with a blanket on a metal slab and the camera never showed her, plus she was dead and stuff so I don't think I wanted to see her anyway.
That didn't do it for ya? Oh well.. Then theres a live one standing around in the Krogan city/ruin.

Didn't notice her before I heard her voice..
That's the runtish MALE ambassador TO the female clan.

They wanted to add Turian females, hang on, I'll get a concept art...

I threw a bit up inside my mouth seeing a naked Turian.
It's like disturbing fan art... except made by the developers.
Did they really have to include "It's internal"?
I am feeling sorry for my female Shepard now...

That would be an awkward conversation...

Garrus: "So, Shepard, are you familiar with the term 'cloaca'?"

I noticed something in Mass Effect 1/2, their is no Female Turians, Elcor, Volus, Salarians, Krogans, and Batarians.

Maybe its just becuase I never did a quest with any (or just can't remember). Or maybe they don't have female counterparts much like Asari (though its hard to call them female technicaly since they don't have a male counterpart)

Anyone else just wonder this? I mean I could really care less but it was just so happenly on my mind.
Female Krogan are mentioned. They have separate clans. Maybe we'll see one in ME3.

Volus I doubt you could tell either way. Those encounter suits are pretty chunky. And their voice modulators all sound the same.

Elcor are similar to Elephants and other such large herd animals. For elephants, a Female is head of the herd and single mature males are often roaming by themselves. The Elcor Ambassidor also explains that Elcor are claustraphobic and don't like long distance space travel. It could be possible that Female Elcor only travel between colonies and its the males that do all the roaming.

I think people have already mentioned that Batarians are supposed to be similar in stature to humans - except the grotesque spider faces - Although in some of the missions in ME2 featuring batarian terrorists there were some that seemed to me different - smaller in frame and such - alas I couldn't get a closer look on account of them shooting at me. The Blue suns mercenaries have lots of batarians and many wear face visors. Could be possible that all those evil rocket babes were female batarian?

As for the other races you mention, well maybe we do see only their physiology is so different humans wouldn't know. Turians are supposed to be reptillian/avian and salarians insectoid. Neither of these species types - at least Earth-wise - have obvious mammalian female traits (Breasts and such).

This is of course all supposition.

There really is no excuse for the lack of female Turians in-game. The other races have some measure of excuse at least.

A lot of it was money restraints, then the second game was also adversely effected by this. Drell are extremely rare to see, Turian and Salarian females stay on their home planet, probably the same with elcor (that or Shepard just hasn't met one personally) and Batarians too. Krogan females are scarce and stay at home. Hanar are unnoticeable.
Turian females don't stay on their home planet. The Turian emphasis on duty means that all Turians, male and female, are equal and common in large state-run institutions like the military, and there's no reason why this gender equality shouldn't filter down into groups like mercs or C-Sec. There isn't any reason in the lore why female Turians shouldn't be common in a location such as the Citadel.
