This is a really old one but i've never gotten to do one so...
Which do you think is better Final Fantasy 7 or Final fantasy 9?

For me it's FF9. It took me 4 years to beat due to messed up Cd's and the experience it gave me was better than the experience that FF7 gave.

I like Final Fantasy IX Final Fantasy VII. Better story, characters, and environments, but that's just me. Also, Vivi is awesome.

FFVII was better in my opinion. I loved the story. FFIX was also amazing in its own rights, just didn't suck me in as much.

Well I used to say it was FFVII, however of late I have been rethinking my allegiance and say FFIX is the better.
The story was more interesting, the characters were more fun, the controls are simple, the chocobo sidequest is really fun, the graphics are better, it's actually got some funny parts, and it has way more to do than FFVII does.

The only thing I hate truly about FFIX is the STUPID PlayOnline idea in the official strategy guide.

I love IX. It's unfortunately the red-headed stepchild of the series for some reason. I guess Zidane isn't as brooding as Cloud or Squal.
I really like the more traditional fantasy trappings the game had and the fact the characters where actually distinct enough in their abilities that party composition truly mattered.

IX. I think it has my favorite soundtrack out of any FF game. The whole setting and atmosphere appeals to me much more than VII. Also, it has Vivi.

Nine was brilliant. I'm happy the Dissidia game has dragged most of the IX fanboys out of hiding after the Fantasy-Sci-fi junkies ripped it apart in front of us and pissed all over it because it lacked the 'familiarity' of seven and eight. (Seriously anyone on the net around 2000 knows that's what happened.)

Seven was good, I enjoyed it, but there was just somthing so...egh not for me, about it...and I'm a girl, I should be all over this shit. But nope. Nine did it for me, Zidane was a positively refreshing and charming breath of air after Cloud's over the top angst and Squalls utter ...lack of personality in the least.

Like them both too much to pick. VII has Sephiroth, who one-ups Kuja, but Cloud has no brain. VII's materia was awesome, but IX's story actually made sense.

That said, flip a coin.

Well, 7 was my first Final Fantasy so it will always have a special place in my heart. I remember being just blown away by its scope, and by the sci-fi elements to the story.

That being said, I don't think FF7 has aged as well as some of the games in the series. I'm not a big fan of the materia system, as the characters become pretty much interchangeable in combat. That's where 9 really stands out for me; I like how each character has unique abilities/weapons/armor. Also, the cities in 9 are some of my favorites in the series.

To be perfectly honest however, FF6 is my all time favorite. It may look crappy compared to games now, but it is still a rock solid experience.

Sephiroth was amazing. Vivi (Jimmy) was probably the best protagonist available in any of the series. Materia was my favorite spell system.

But I truly cant decide. I liked both plots about the same, and the games were really fun to play (Unlike a lot of the chores that have come out recently). Can it be a tie?
