The ghost woman from The Grudge. Mainly because the sound she makes reminds me of the sound i make when i try to scream in a dream but can't.

Loved horror movies as a kid, especially Freddy Kreugar. But there were the creepy ass kiddie mascots from TV shows & restraunts to worry about.

*Ronald McDonald.
*Barney.
*The Telletubbies.
*H.R. Pufnstuf.

Alma.
Deathclaws.
Feral Ghouls if I'm stupid enough to walk into the Dunwich Building.

Also, meeting a Dalek in real life would scare the crap out of me upon realisation that the Earth is completely and utterly fucked.

Oddly enough, the Weeping Angels didn't bother that much. *shrug*

It'd have to be either Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2, Necromorphs from Dead Space (first played alone at home with all the lights off on a HD tv), The Thing from the film of the same name or the Xenomorphs from the Alien series. Seriously, I have a looooong driveway with no lights or streetlamps to light it up, so when I take my bins out each week in the dark (naturally, since I always forget) I turn and try not to be scared for a few steps, then give up and run like theres an alien on my arse.

I dunno about MOST, but one character who always sends chills down my spine is Vhailor from Planescape: Torment. Yeah, he's one of your party members, but he's still scary as eff.

This guy is a cold, absolutely merciless judge and executioner. Have you committed a crime, any crime, of any sort, in your life? He can look into you and SEE that (except in special cases.) He WILL sentence you, and he WILL pass judgment, and he WILL bring that justice about. He doesn't care about your excuses, your explanations, or your pleas. He doesn't do it out of malice, or sadism - he does it because he truly believes that Justice is the absolute, ultimate force, and his dedication to that cause is so strong that he hasn't even noticed that he's now a specter inhabiting a suit of armor - his physical body having long ago perished and rotted completely away.

C'thulu becomes suprisingly scary the more you read about him xD

He's kind of like a less blobby version of Giygas.

Alex Mercer from "Prototype". He can disguise himself as anyone, making it really easy to catch one off-guard; add to that the psychological horror upon realizing that the person he's disguised as is someone he ATE! On top of that, he has countless ways he can kill you, be it through simple crushing, slashing you up with claws, dicing you up with a sword arm, piercing you with spear-like tentacles, and more. Worst of all, when he kills you, it is highly likely that he will consume you as well, absorbing your very mind. Who knows what kind of fate that has on the deceased? Is their very conciousness permanently assimilated into this amalgamation of deceased minds, essentially robbing the person of their very soul, ever reliving their own death and unable to pass on in peace? It's... too horrible to imagine...
I have to agree with you there, Alex Mercer is one of the most fearsome creatures you can face. But I thought he was one who had to relive the death and pain of the peoples he killed not the personalities he consumed themselves, or did I get something wrong in the game?

]Alucard from Hellsing. Because he's an unstoppable, unkillable vampire with terrifying powers.

Also, Lucy from Elfen Lied. Because of all the horrible ways she kills people.

Both of which would kill you without so much as a second thought.
You're right, they are really a terror to encounter. But I think meeting Anderson or Mariko wouldn't be too pleasant also.

To the aforementioned, Mercer, Alucard and Lucy, I would add Night Terror from Soul Calibur III. A souleating beast which can shoot laser from his mouth and flies upon fiery wings.
