Bloody Stupid Johnson

He is an infamous inventor from the Discworld series. Everything he invented works wonderfully but it never does what it is intended to do. I fear that if B.S. Johnson tried to invent a motor coach or some form of electricity, he would accidentally create a way to go between this real world and the Discworld. Now since that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, it would put us in the same world as the twin cities of Ahnk and Morpork and I'm sure most of us would find our way into The Shades and ... not find our way back out ...

...

I take that back, that'd be pretty sweet ...

...

In that case I fear The Combine: They started out in the Half Life games and I swear I was killing them in Red Faction: Gurilla as I played it.
Was going to say Half Life's headcrabs, but thinking about it, Bloody Stupid Johnson is/was more akin to a force of nature. I would not want to fall in one of his ho-hos. (or was it a ha-ha? I forgot.)

When I was younger, the Headless Horseman from Sleepy Hollow terrified me. I mean, you couldn't beat him! He's supposed to go away when you cross the bridge, and he doesn't!
Funny, he was my personal bogeyman, too. I really thought I was the only one.

As for now, I'd say something like Silent Hill (the city itself) or the Overlook Hotel just because I find a manipulative setting far more terrifying than any monster. If I had to pick a straight up character I'd probably choose either the three assholes from The Strangers or Hayley Stark from Hard Candy (which is ironic because I looooove Ellen Page) since they seem potentially real and more likely to come out of nowhere (well not so much Hayley but you get the idea).

On a seperate note, I'm suprised to see so many people are terrified of either PH or Alma (the former being spectacular beast that seemed to have been thrown together randomly and the latter being the embodiment of modern horror cliches). And yes I'm aware I'm being kind of a douche, since terror is irrational, so I'll apologize ahead of time.

The Re-Deads from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Forget Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and the Shock games. That piercing screech scared me out of my young mind.
ARGH RE-DEADS!!!!

They terrified me.

They weren't as bad in LoZ: Twilight Princess, but they were still bad.

The Grudge.

It was supposed to be contained in the house, but it wasn't!

And the fact that it ate someone while they were hiding in their bed freaked me right out. Bed is supposed to be a sacred place where nothing can hurt you.

Killer Croc from Arkham Asylum, because I can't throw a batarang, much less have one on hand. Huge mother would just...eat...me...o_O...And Batman doesn't always get there in time, man...

Alternatively, the Scarecrow from the same game. That dude freaked me right out.

Alex Mercer. the game may be mediocre, but man, he just doesn't die (repairing your entire body when all that is left is a few chunks of meat and blood) and can murder the hell out of everything. I don't think pyramid head, Kratos, or even a Spartan II would stand a chance.
Especially not a Spartan. Just about any Dragonball Z character could kill him though. I'm pretty sure that that was the entire thing of like, three separate main villains.
On Topic: Fred. The Youtube one. He will steal your babies, eat them, and give their souls as gifts to Satan, his master.

Ninja'd; The Slender Man. He's just so... horrifyingly ominous. Ugh...
Also, the chick from the Grudge. I saw about 20 minutes into it, then promptly refused to ever watch the whole thing. Although, the Ring didn't phase me at all, must be that hair...

For any Buffy fans, the Gentlemen freak me the hell out. And that creepy lullaby the little girl sang at the beginning of the episode, whatthefaaack!

And, on a more psychological level, the step-father from Pan's Labyrinth. He was just so ruthless and merciless. It really got to me, especially when he was chasing Ophelia at the end.

The Ichthyosaur from half-life, cus damn it's not just it alone, but underwater you can't really fight and most if not all weapons don't work underwater = your doom! The FUCKING FACE HUGGERS!! Those crab things in the sewers in Call of Cthulu, Don't know why, it's just im scared shitless of poison things, and the mere sight of them over a corpse scared me that they would gang clamp me to death. The poison headcrabs, fucking. poison. headcrabs. I remember yeah the re-deads scared the crap out of me too. But most of all, above all, and more than anything else. THOSE. GOD. DANGED. HALFLIFE 2. FAST. ZOMBIES!!!

Addendum: Although they don't personally scare me, the mainliners, hangmen, and Slayers from The Suffering scared the crap out of my Fiancee.

Addendum, Addendum: Ohh yes and before I forget, bobby barrows from the ORIGINAL Clocktower on the SNES, that creepy little midget had 3 foot long garden sheers, and you were a helpless little Asian girl, being unable to fight back, that THING scared the crap out of me, specialy since he was everywhere.

That freaking regenerating necromorph from Dead Space. I literally started shaking when I knew I was going to have to deal with it.

I hate things that you can't kill in video games. On that same note, the Dahaka in PoP:WW was pretty bad too.

Its a tie between T-rexes/V-rexes/devilsaurs and Aliens (the ones someone put vs predators). I would say jaws but sharks are real.

Severus Snape from Harry Potter. Purely because he's played by Alan Rickman in the movies and I scream in disgust and horror everytime I see Alan Rickman. If you've watched Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, you'll know why.

Oh, and those bloody Weeping Angels from Dr Who. @ _ @ I couldn't sleep for a week...
