Wait, You are actually upset about that but not
The cheap throw away deaths of Eddie and Jake?
But they
didn't really die, they appeared later on in the book in yet another alternative universe as brothers.

Must admit the first 5 of those books were awesome - think it might have been better if he never finished them..

What are you talking about. He didn't die........he just stayed back to fix the ship when they went to send the message.........and they gave him a memorial cause of all the hard work he did on it.......then he was on his break in the final scene hence Mal flew the ship.......yeah that's what happened ok. He is not dead ok. NOT DEAD *cries*

Alot of the deaths in The Deathly Hallows seemed pointless and just written in to piss me off.

In Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, when
Fenchurch just dissapears.
Maybe it's not technically a fictional death, but the effects are just the same. I hate it when something that beautifull just gets poofed away in an instant. At least make something like that end epic. But nooo....

<spoiler=Not angered as such, but In the Departed>When Costigan gets shot.
By that time I wanted him to live so much. I figured the baby was his as well and when he goes down it's so sudden I jumped out of my chair and shouted 'oh no!' in a manner usually saved for genuinely bad real things.

That upset me so much I almost burst into tears, the Departed's a damn good movie.

I actuslly like the very end of the last book, where
Roland has to "eternally" travel to the Dark Tower, but picks up the Horn of Arthur at Jericho, so there might be hope.

But I do agree that maybe if he had left it at the 4th book, it would be just pure awesomeness.

My dog in Fable 2, I couldnt shoot that bastard Lucien fast enough. Sadly I waited until Knothole Island to revive the little bugger. Im eternally good, but 1 random stranger for my snuggly little comrade is quite a fair price.
I played a good character (once) On fable2, but I'dda killed a million people if it meant getting my black, bulky, hellish hound back.

I just didn't feel sad about her dieing. If anything, I was more pissed than saddened, because you spend the entire first disc leveling her up.

Shinji
from Persona 3... I had been using (him/her) in my party for a good while when it happened. I could at least rationalize it, though, by the line of thought that when it isn't the Dark Hour all Persona-users are just normal people, but then, later
that perfectly plausable theory goes to hell when Junpei dies!(Even though it was just for a second.)

Just like 30 minutes back I finished watching The Departed:

Every main character exept one died, the movie itself rocked.
I feel your pain, although the ending is pure awesome, never cross Sergeant Dignum...
