Turn the Normandy sr2 into a giant fucking warship, okay maybe wont help defeat the reapers much but would be fucking awsome seriously I save your asses twice I want a warship.
The Normandy (and Normandy 2) are frigates (small ships)considering that when it's upgraded it's able to destroy a collector cruiser relatively easily, i'd say it is definitely a warship

Edit : oh and my money for ME3 is on "hopefully you've made some friends!" gathering of Rachni, Geths, Quarians, Citadel Council Races and maybe the Terminus systems.I don't think they'll implement real space battles since it would require programming a completely different combat model but maybe something like the end of ME2 where you wished you had upgraded your ship. The "real" fight though will definitely be Shepard+2 since he's just that awesome!

I'm sure Shep will rally together all the different factions of the galaxy - possibly the Council Races, Terminus groups, Cerberus, the Alliance, the Rachni, the Krogan, the Geth, the Quarians (all depending on your particular playthrough, of course). Maybe they'll be able to find some Reaper weakness to exploit from reverse-engineering Sovereign, the Derelict Reaper, or the Collector base, or using Geth insight to synthetic lifeforms. I hope something crazy-awesome happens, like Shepherd finds some really powerful and ancient alien tech to use against them, or maybe even an isolated group of Protheans (pre-Collectorization) or even older aliens to help in the fight.

*snaps fingers* I got it. Have Shep sex it it w/ someone, show .75 seconds of a sideboob, and the resulting Fox News misinformed rants will cause the Reapers to storm off due to the fact Fox News' ignorance of everything is too much for their superior engineering to handle.

Miss Roslyn Shep and Kai-Kai are willing to make that sacrifice! (Roslyn Shep is my Shep FYI)
GREAT now i have the mental picture

Come on baby...don't fear the reapers
Baby take my hand...don't fear the reapers
We'll be able to fly...don't fear the reapers
Baby I'm your man...

How will Shepard defeat the reapers?
By using convenient boxes and balcony rails as cover. Pew pew pew.

Somewhere over the rainbow, there's another rainbow (cookie for reference). They'll probably get all races together b/c Shephard is so good at persuading others to join him. Cerberus probably has something up its sleeve too, especially since the Illusive Man's eyes look like the sharingan from Naruto

dunno...but the Rachni sound pissed at the Reapers. that, and the Krogen are focusing on reproduction, meaning more Krogen. An army of two of the most unstoppable species pissed off at the same people? things could look worse

A sweet ending would be if you don't. No matter what you do, who you have with you, you just get fucked and the process starts again rather than having another ending of Humans win out against all odds.

Actually, now that I've settled down a bit and given the issue a good think I have an idea.

So we know from Mass Effect 1 that primary mass-relays can be displaced vast distances from their starting point and still link up to the other mass-relay in the pair. See the Mu relay for example.

When you picked up Tali in Mass Effect 2 she was on a planet [http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Haestrom] orbiting a star which was going to go red-giant prematurely and she was studying that phenomena.

So with those two pieces in mind what I could see happening is that they'll set a cosmic trap. They'll move a primary relay from it's normal position to another nearby star where the relay would be the only practical way to get in and out of the system (Remember the limitations of FTL in Mass Effect). Using the research Tali gathered you'll cobble together something that will allow you to make a star freak out and go nova on command. (ALTERNATIVE: Because this was already happening to another star I also wouldn't rule out recovering an alien gizmo that was causing said star to tweak out.)

So you'll set up the star with a go-boom-now button, lure the Reaper fleet through it somehow (I haven't thought that part out entirely, probably you'd have some sort of macguffin they want), once they go through the relay is shut down/destroyed/whatever (I'm pretty sure strapping a bunch of big nukes to one would do it) to make sure they can't just turn around and leave, then the make-the-star-explode button is pressed.

Reapers fry, credits roll, good times had for all...OR ARE THEY!?!

More likely: Watch credits, see teaser at end for ham-fisted Mass Effect 4, return of the bride of the son of the reapers revenge, facepalm.

I can think of a few points of failure for a plan like that, but given the way games like this are typically written they'd either be glossed over or a new piece of technobabble would be conjured to counteract it.

Either of options:

We rally armies a la Dragon Age: Origins.. eg: Rachni, Geth, Quarians, Krogan etc etc. Then a huge battle, again, a la DA:O style. But that doesn't really answer the question of HOW...

Hmmm, either Deus Ex Machina of a super-weapon, something perhaps Mordin cooks up. (ninja'd)
Or a super virus which wipes out or at least immobilizes/weakens the Reapers enough to be taken on.

Or something much different..

Maybe there won't be a Battle. Maybe Shepard needs only destroy 1 thing, like a Mass Relay (Citadel), or some super starship which controls all the Reapers in proxy. Destroy that, destroy the reapers. That makes more sense & would be more realistic than taking on an army of millions/billions of massive super-powerful sentient warships me thinks..

Kane.
Because Kane is immortal (having survived at least 3 direct ion cannon blasts) he will have no problem dismantling the Reapers one piece at a time.

I have other silly crossover references to make, such as the arkbird, mobius one in a space ship... Tanya, obligatory "CARRIER HAS ARRIVED", Chaos Space Marines, those Warhammer 40k space ships that are scary as hell looking, etc.

Wrex and the Krogan's will take em down, no problem. Don't even need to cure the genophage, they're just that awesome.

Shepard helps out a little too!
Not in my game. Unfortunately, in ME1, Wrex never made it off the beach.....in my defense, I didn't think Shepard had the cojones....
Well then you're done for! Wrex is the only thing that stands between humanity and the reapers, without him, I expect Mass Effect 3 will just be a short 'GAME OVER' screen for you after a brief segment where you play Shepard getting killed... again...

They will gather all the mass relays together to make some kind of super weapon to use against the reapers and call it "Mass Effect"
