Lesser known movie example, The Cave. It had a cool opening and that was it, shit all the way through. Worst horror movie I've seen.

Well known movie example, Avatar. First time I would have ever considered asking for my money back (not that I asked for it).

Dungeons and Dragons, a film I went to see with several other friends of mine, as we were currently playing D&D. There's a couple hours of my life I'll never get back.
Runners up:
Prince of Persia
The Expendables
Aliens vs Predator (I saw it for free and still felt I was overcharged.)
Spider-Man 3
Transformers (Some people liked it. I wasn't them.)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
FYI The second Dungeons and Dragons movie was a lot better. Still not... good... but better.

I'll throw in votes for Napolean Dynamite, Freddy Got Fingered, Battle Los Angeles, Battlefield Earth, Anything Uwe Boll has ever done, Any of the "Date Movie", "Disaster Movie" etc...

Ugh. Yeah. I saw that one in theaters, too.

It was a case of a whole bunch of friends, a whole bunch of boredom, and "The Cave" being the only movie with a late enough start time that we'd be able to get to it without missing anything.

In retrospect, I wish we'd missed everything.

If I said "The Avengers" would it cause people to be mad? :3 But seriously the movie pissed me off so often with how the heroes would always survive. Also wtf the aliens were so dumb and non threatening I just wanted to facepalm. This "super alien army" armed with with laser rifles couldn't even kill some chick with two pistols. God. I was rooting for Loki to somehow pull a win out of his ass but honestly I knew he was doomed when it was just him up against like 5 superheroes. :| Also why Loki didn't just wtfpwn everyone with his OP as fuck "stick of destiny" I don't know. I just want the bad guy to win for once D:

.... maybe if I wanted to see the bad guys win I shouldn't have gone to see a movie based on Superheroes...?

Flying airship pissed me off as well. Such a dumb idea I'm glad the bad guys blew it up. Well they tried I suppose... somehow the thing can fly with just one engine apparently? *Sigh*

ALSO. Hulk is OP, if only he was the bad guy it would be GG good guys. The Hulk single handled (literally) destroyed Loki. Thor's got nothing on that shit. Additionally why did he rage-mode and try kill that Widow chick in the flying airship but suddenly when the aliens invade he is all pals with them? Another thing, how did Thor survive that fall from the pod? Fury said that it would kill Loki but Thor just jumps out of it and he don't give a fuck so wow yeah that's got to the dumbest "kill device" ever.

Usually I can overlook small plot things and what not such as the above. I did it for Avatar, Transformers, CoD and many other medias. The amount of hype on this movie led me to have high expectation though which ultimately led to me judging it harshly.
first of all, Loki is a character with severe narcisism and wants the heroes to bow before him that is why he doesn't outright kill them
secondly, the ship wasn't flying with only one rotor, it was temporarily lost use of one
Third, I'm just guessing that the aliens weren't prepared for such close-quarters combat
fourth, Thor survived because he broke out of the pod, it wasn't meant to kill Loki, it was the Hulk's container
it seems to me that you overlooked a lot of details that they gave[/quote]

I wouldn't say I overlooked details, more so they didn't explain it too well.

I can understand Loki's problem with not killing people, it seems to be a common trait in villains.
Wasn't there a part of the movie where the Hawk used some kind of device to hack into the ships computer and shut down all of the rotors bar the one Ironman was manually rotating?
This was honestly the biggest downer of me, how weak the aliens were. Even there big flying monsters weren't that strong. It just seems that if they were such a powerful and advanced fighting force maybe they would have done a little recon of their enemies beforehand.
Didn't Fury say to Loki when he was first inside something along the lines of "They say you are immortal...maybe not so when you are dropped 30,000 feet"? What I got from that conversation was that Fury thought that his prison cell would be able to kill or seriously harm Loki.

Sorry if I come across as aggressive btw.. I'm honestly curious about these little things.

The Aliens had no real knowledge of Earth except from what Loki told them. Loki didn't hold humans in any sort of high regard so he may have undersold us.

Almost forgot Deathproof. That was such a dissappointing movie. Tarantino introduce us to a bunch of incredibly annoying women and then kills them (well after about an hour of.... nothing, just banter, not good banter, not watchable banter, I wanted them all dead within the first five minutes kind of banter). Then in comes an even more annoying group and they get away? I swore off Tarantino movies after watching Deathproof. I have heard things about Inglorious Basterds but a vow is a vow.

Captcha: send packing

That's right Quentin, we are done.

I don't remember Hawk using any sort of device, I just remember the C4 arrow and his infiltration. Fury pretty much held down the control center.
Plus, it would seem that the aliens are weak because it is implied that they were stuck wherever Loki met with them, otherwise they wouldn't need Loki to get the cube, instead, if they were such a powerful army then they could easily invade at anytime. Besides, even Thor doesn't believe that he and his kind are immortal, rather, he says it was humans who came up with that notion, which is why they can be so easily hurt when fighting each other.
Another point on the aliens - there were also not immortal and they were under prepared for taking on a powerful opponent, so when your opponent discovers the hole in your defense then it ceases to be a defense and instead more of a liability which is why they were easily beaten, the only advantage they had was their superior numbers, the ability to fly and Loki

Bridesmaids.
Dear fucking God, Bridesmaids. The protagonist was so unlikable as to make me hate every other character by proxy. She's petty, cruel, obnoxious and worst of all, everyone forgives her. She's narcissistic, but not in a funny way The film's occasional attempts to make her sympathetic are a lost cause, and give the unpleasant impression that the filmmakers expect us to find her antics adorable. They're not. They're excruciating.
Also: NONE OF THE JOKES ARE FUNNY. NONE.

The Movie Perfume.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0396171/

I hate and loath everything about that movie. Only movie I've ever actually want a refund for. My incredible Batman complex (i.e. PUNISH THE VILLAIN) probably didn't help, but overall, I gave so many what the fuck looks to my wife during it at what was happening on screen.

The Princess and the Pilot.

I saw it at a local animation festival. It was the second year I had attended said festival. The previous year, they had shown Redline (the greatest anime movie ever) and Summer Wars, so I really thought highly of them. Then this movie came onto the screen, and . . .

Good god.

Take every stupid anime cliche (I can't do accents) and put it into a movie, and you have TPatP.

Two warring nations with no distinguishable features? Check.
A downtrodden protagonist from the lower class who had amazing skills? Check.
Military academy bullies from the upper class? Check.
Said downtrodden protagonist from the lower class is the only one they can trust with the mission? Check.
The mission involves the princess spending long periods alone with the protagonist en route to her destination? Check.
The princess doesn't want to marry her prince? Check.

And I'm aware that following a formula isn't a bad thing if the movie wants to concentrate on other aspects, like action or worldbuilding. But, shit. This movie had totally average animation, a superbly mediocre script, painfully bland characters . . .

It didn't even take any chances, either. Okay, so, at one point, the hero and the princess are being tailed by this incredibly determined enemy pilot, who has become obsessed with them due to being outmanoeuvred earlier in the movie, despite having a superior plane. They fend him off by a hair's breadth, and the two planes pull alongside each other so that the pilots can look each other in the eye.

I was honestly expecting the enemy pilot to fly his plane into the ocean - you know, underscoring the whole "horrors of war" thing? Senseless death over honour and military creed, that sort of thing?

Nothing happens. He flies back to base and tells no-one about it.

Wasted 10$ and two hours of my life on that film.

Scott Pilgrim.

Easily one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen.
God, this. All the characters in that movie were unlikable cunts except for Wallace.

I don't think there is any movie that I regret watching, everything is worth a shot atleast.. I do however deeply regret that I re-watched Watership Down because of some thread here on the Escapist.. It broke me down in ways I never thought imaginable..
I really like the movie but, damn, it scarred me as a child and I stand by that it made me cry when I watched it again this winter.

Should I recomend you Plague Dogs? I havent watched Watership Down yet but they do seem to follow the same line. Its by the same guys too. While the film is also depressing I think that its worth it.
I hate you for that! I was a kid when that came out and I can't listen to the song "Bright Eyes" without collapsing in the fetal position and rocking gently in terror.

Eragon

It was botched so bad that they wouldn't be able to make the sequels.

I actually saw it when it was in theaters, looking back, I should have asked for my money back, but I was in such shock at the time, I must not have had the mind to do it.

If I had, I probably would have asked for double my money back, because they should have at least paid me for the time of my life that that movie wasted.

Seriously, one of the worst book to movie adaptions ever made, especially in the main story points and in art and costume direction. Also, if I had the power, I would make it so that the director would never work in the movie industry ever again.

I can tell when a movie is bad enough to stop watching (and I usually enjoy So-Bad-It's-Good movies, so I guess those don't count), but I managed to sit through Daddy Day Camp one bored afternoon. I think my brain died during it, I don't remember anything...

None.

I never regretted seeing a film. All the bad ones I've seen I usually forget I saw them or find them hilarious. Some like The Last Airbender or Dragonball Evolution I felt sort of obligated to watch since I've seen the original source material, and as bad as they were, I didn't think they ruined the shows.

So, um, yeah. I've got nothing. But movies I would've regretted watching would probably be the Clannad movie. Thank god I saw it after watching the anime or else it would've probably ruined the show for me.
