Back to the Future. A remake is rumored, and I hope it never comes to fruition.

Remaking a movie that was already perfect is, to me, like someone trying to repaint the Mona Lisa.

I've heard some nasty rumours that D*sney want to remake Yellow Sumbmarine. What the fuck? If they release that I will personally set off a nail bomb in the closest D*sney Store.
And some fella who's name I forget is lookin' to redo The Crow, and point it in a different direction. I don't even know what to say about that one. As far as I'm concerned, Eric Draven can be portrayed by Brandon Lee and nobody else. I didn't even mind (kinda enjoyed) the dreadful sequels...

It's an absolute tragedy just how many people refuse to see The Princess Bride just 'cause of the name.
In fully half of my relationships, Princess Bride was watched immediately before 'stuff happened'. Nobody can resist its seductive ability.

I have three.

Fight Club - This remains my favorite movie, not the best movie, just my favorite. That's one reason. Another Is how well Brad Pitt and Edward Norton fit their roles, and their chemistry and contrast. Everything else was great, the visuals, the plot. The film Is good enough on Its own.

Pulp Fiction - ... just don't, I don't care If fifty years down the road you want to update It, don't It's good enough.

Star Wars ( applies to IV, V, and VI ) - The movies are perfect. A product of talented artists, adversity, creative ideas, and the visions of a genius. In todays world the battle for Yavin IV would be populated with hundreds of X-Wings dropping the feeling of a scrambled last ditch fight, the battle between Luke and Vader would be coreagraphed, forgoing the tension of watching Luke battle a warrior more skilled them him, and the Ewoks will have celebrity voices, and will fully become useless. I fear deeply that If not George, someone will, ten years, twenty years, fifty years down the road.

The Princess Bride.... oh for the love of all that is holy, NEVER remake the Princess Bride.

You can't top perfection.
Well, now I have a new fear to base my nightmares around. Dead on, though. Princess Bride is perfect.

It's an absolute tragedy just how many people refuse to see The Princess Bride just 'cause of the name.
Yeah, I didn't want to see it because of the name but after I saw that it was a big hit with it's mix of romance, comedy, and action I now really wanna see it.
Go find it! RIGHT NOW! You won't regret watching one of the best movies ever.

Brazil (1985) is perfection, but Princess Bride is pretty damn close.
Oh man, Brazil... now THAT takes me back.

Any of Eisenstein's stuff. Even a Zack Snyder adaptation of Alexander Nevsky, which really would just be a Russified 300, would ultimately end up flat.

Saving Private Ryan. The best movie of all time is perfect the way it is, leave it alone. Oh god, imagine what disaster it would be if Michael Bays was hired to direct a Saving Private Ryan remake. I shudder at the thought.

Don't forget green screens everywhere so the actors are looking at a blank wall for 90% of their acting!
The remakes were bad enough, I am ashamed that they are the only copy of the trilogy that I have. Pointless CGI screen clutter stuffed in at every opportunity, the infamous cantina scene, a jar jar binks visible on screen (ok, its for about 5 seconds and you probably wouldn't notice unless someone pointed it out to you but still!).
