V for Vendetta (I hoped I spelled it right)
It left the ending right were it needed to be. In complete awesomeness.

lucky these are taken from comics that arent Marvel, they wont get a sequel unless the original writer wants it to happen, thank god

Tron.
It would probably be terrabad if hollywood made another tron so don't even try.
Tron 2 is on the way. It's call TR2N.
I love TRON so I'm curious to see how it'll work given the differences in tech.

There have been plenty of sequels, prequels and oldschool resurections of films recently, some good, others bad. Whereas I often look forward to a sequel I can find them not up to the standard of the previous film, much to my dissapointment.

Back on topic, I was wondering if you had any films you are glad they haven't made a sequel/prequel for (yet).

2 of mine would be:

(The original) The italian Job
this is a briliant film, and a classic cliff hanger (badum-tish) ending. There could have been a sequel, but there wasn't, which I think would have ruined it.

Monsters, Inc.
I know this is a childs film but watching it back recently was a delight. I'm glad that they havent made a sequel, but I'm half expecting them to do it at some point.

EDIT: I hadnt seen LordCraigus' topic started earlier, so sorry for a little overlap

so feel free to add your own, or even films you did want sequels for (sorry for masses of writing :p )
The Italian job has had a sequel, well a remake sort of thing. It was crap.

One of mine is Once upon a time in the West.
Although it would have been quite hard to carry on the story anyway.

BladeRunner.

If you don't count all the abortive Director's Cuts, Final Cuts, Special Editions, Extended Editions, with Voice over narration, without, with Directorial Commentary, etc, etc.

Good film though.

You couldn't make a sequel. Alan Moore wouldn't allow it. He thought the film was a shitpile and oversimplified the source material.
Yeah he refuses to even see the watchmen film, although I think that's a lot more faithful to the original comic and keeps some of the general themes alive, although the removal of the black freighter was a bit annoying.

Pulp Fiction,
The Usual Suspects,
Reservoir Dogs...

Pretty much any film where most (or every) character dies. That's why Open Water 2 and Hollow Man 2 sucked.

The Black Freighter got it's own cartoon DVD release with a fictionally televised Under the Hood. They're not very good to be honest. Alan Moore should watch Watchmen Im think.

Also, since when did Donnie Darko have a sequel? How is it possible?
