(The original) The italian Job
this is a briliant film, and a classic cliff hanger (badum-tish) ending. There could have been a sequel, but there wasn't, which I think would have ruined it.
I think I heard somewhere they're making a sequel for the Italian Job reboot.
"The Brazilian Job", oh Christ.

V for Vendetta, way too good to have a sequel.
A sequel to Saving Private Ryan would also suck.
Oh, and a sequel to Forrest Gump would be... WHAT THE HELL!?
Thats not as unlikely as you may think.

Winston Groom (the author of the book) did write a sequel called Gump & Co in a very blatant attempt to cash in on the success of the movie. The sequel takes on the ending of the movie which is very different to how it was orignally.

I don't know if they would be able to get it turned in to a film but if Hollywood gets short on ideas one day maybe they will try and do another.

Yeah, that was abysmal. It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't intended as an actual sequel. It did have Shatner though!

Iron Giant! Normally animated movies in theaters that are GOOD, end up having straight-to-video sequels or GOD-AWFUL series.

Why should anyone care about movie sequels? If it isn't appreciated, simply don't watch it.

On topic though, I guess I'm happy that nobody ever made a sequel to Zombie Strippers. That movie was so bad that a sequel could never be good.
So Zombie Strippers wasn't a good movie!? What a shock! /sarcasm

I'd have to go with Edward Scissorhands and The Fountain.

Finding Nemo, The Incredibles (Well, I guess it could be pretty cool)

Pixar should release a dvd with all of the shorts they show at the beginning of their movies. I actually lol'd at some of them.

Just leave the crappy sequel making to Disney

Rather than mention a movie with a well-told, self-contained, for-all-intents-and-purposes complete storyline, I am going to say " Masters of the Universe".
The presumptuous sequel hook just becomes more and more hilarious the more time passes by without a sequel. Even the He-Man revival of the early '00s wasn't enough to bring it back from the brink. The brink of obscurity is where in the universe "Masters of the Universe" belongs.

Ok, I'd say: He Died With a Felafel in Hand - sweet little indie film that really needs nothing more in addition, From Hell - We can only take so many English whores and so much Jack the Ripper in one film...

Well actually, there are a lot of older films that they never made sequels to that were awesome because the entire plot fit in a neat little two-hour package. Apart from certain titles, it seems the "leaving things open for a money-making sequel" thing is a more recent phenom.
