I think it depends on the console. If you have an xbox360 go for mass effect 2.
If you have a ps3 go for final fantasy 13. I heard that they turned the graphics of final fantasy 13 down a notch for the 360. Don't know if thats true though.

I've got to go with Mass Effect 2 and I have played most of the FF games. The main problem with them is that, apart from nine and six, I found it hard to like most of characters. I liked all the team members in Mass Effect and it just seems like the better choice because hey, FF won't have half the DLC that Mass Effect 2 will, so when you're done playing ME2 (which will be a long time) you can buy FF13 at a cheaper price!

EDIT: Sorry about the double post, it had to be said.

Also, I'm not much of an FF fan so I may not share the same view as the rest...I mean I never got the big deal with Aeris death scene and such.

Do we get to make sweet, sweet alien love to her?

Whats next? In Mass 3 Shep cures the Genophage by injecting Wrex's DNA into his nuts and banging the Krogan Queen producing a new species that is immune?
Seriously, this just stinks of pandering to the fans.

...Are you actually implying that every turn-based system is the same?

Because that would make you an idiot.

As for FF12, it was a slew of neat ideas, each one of them with a crippling flaw in their implementation.
Don't bother even trying to argue with him brother. Some idiots just see the name "Final Fantasy" and assume they are all exactly the same, then within 10 seconds of opening their mouths they prove they know jack shit about the series beyond it having turn based combat and pretty men.
QFT. lordlee, take my advice to the OP and ignore the biased idiots.
Because you are so much more muture...not!
