Final Fantasy 7 is on PSN

I never played it but I think I'll get it tomorrow.
Is it worth the $10?

If you like JRPG's there is a decent chance you'll like this one. You may like it more if you ignore the hype and don't go in with epic expectations which some people do and come out disappointed due to rabid fans hyping it. Hell it's only $10 you can't go wrong either way,and the game will last you a good bit.

I don't believe the hype and actually will be going in to the game with a very cynical attitude.
I played FF1-6 but couldn't get in to them.
I also played 9 but late in the first disk I got bored and stopped playing.
My favorite JRPG's are Chrono Trigger and Earthbound.
Is it still worth a check out?

Hmm..well 7's story is rather different than 1-6's. A lot of 7's gameplay aspects and even story elements are heavily derived from 6. If you didn't like 6 (BLASPHEMY!!) which is the closest thing to 7 in some aspects then you might have a hard time with 7. Going in with a cynical attitude doesn't help either. But hey sometime you just gotta take some risks and dive right in because you might just end up liking something from a franchise or genre that never appealed to you. And like I said, $10 aint big money, hell with $10 for me it would be "hmm McD's or FF7...McD's or...ah screw it".

VII was competent, as many people say, but I played it a few years ago (on my ps2) and X is still my favorite by far.

THIS is why they scaled back Backwards Compatibility on the PS3... because now they can sell people downloadable versions of games they already OWN!



*NOTE* this post was in jest... I know that PS1 games are backwards compatible with all versions of the PS3. The fact that I need to put this disclaimer should make you feel like booty.

I think the PSN needs ALOT more games like FF games in their classics. They should make it possible to buy PS2 games on it as well like the xbox 360 with xbox originals. I don't know why they haven't done it yet... At least most, if not all, of the games on xbox originals are the great ones, the PS one classics, only like 10-20% are actually worth buying.

I don't think i've ever heard of someone selling one of 3 disks from one whole game seperately. What is the point of that?

Actually it is a pretty good game but I agree it doesn't really justify all of the hype it seems to be getting. It has been available for years and if the PSN version is identical to the original then what is everyone so excited about?

Because the disks cost a bundle and this a cheap way to play a classic. Plus being able to have it on your PSP is a nice plus.

well i had a friend who had all three so i was going to buy it cheap but the third was destroyed so i got 1&2 cheap but needed to go to ebay for the third

everywhere on the internet the game is set at an unreasonable price because it's old and there's few of them out there(that people are willing to at sell at least)
