So at the cost of making a game, but following the plot of the original, the rabid fans' wads of cash would not cover making an original game? Or are we saying ff13 was so dumbed down because making it as complex as ff7 would have been too expensive? I am not kidding, this is one of the games people would have absolutly no qualms about buying from them. "Too expensive" is relative. All they would have to do is make a Final Fantasy RPG in the way they used to, and follow the story. I just don't see it. Remakes that weren't too expensive to produce: Resident Evil, Silent Hill (yes even Shattered Memories didn't tank), Metroid, Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider Anniversary, Bionic Commando (Rearmed, not that other one), and my fully situationally-appropriate example: Final Fantasy 4. It wouldn't be any more expensive than just making another game, unless they really did try to recreate everything down to the exact inch-by-inch building placement, etc and spend all their time making every tiny detail exactly the same. Then again, the internet is filled with detailed charts on how absolutely everything in the game works. Their work is cut out for them there.wintercoat said:No, no it isn't stupid. I liked FFX. It's one of my top 5 FF games. They've already stated that a FFVII HD remake would cost too much, and I tend to agree. It's not just a graphics update like some people think, they'd have to pretty much remake the entire game. Why do that when you can just make a new game?
It's really kind of stupid of them to ignore their fans.
They fully remade 4, among others I think, into full 3d models and environment for the DS. While blocky and cartoony (essentially ff7 level graphics but cel shaded), they were still the exact same game except for slight differences in dialogue and had pretty good fmv cutscenes. To do this to bring ff7 up to at least better than ff12 graphics doesn't sound too hard. Preferably, they'd at least be consistent with the Compilation and switch the game to over-the-shoulder perspective and add voices for major cinematics. All they would need to do is make a new Final Fantasy game that follows the important details, it doesn't sound hard. Fan rage aside, using the ff13 engine would work just fine after returning to more sensible combat.devotedsniper said:To be honest i think 7 to 10 should be remade but 10 needs it the least, in all fairness the graphics even by todays standards still look nice. It's just a shame i won't be able to play it because i don't have a ps3.
Think of it this way. Final Fantasy 7 is literally twice the game 13 is in terms of graphics needed. There are more areas, more enemies, more NPCs. More attacks, more spells, more abilities, the over the top summons. There's Chocobo Racing, there's snowboarding, there's the motorcycle game. There's the entire world. There's under the oceans. And all of it needs to be remade because all of the old models can't be translated to current gen graphics. We're talking making something that looks like thisNieroshai said:So at the cost of making a game, but following the plot of the original, the rabid fans' wads of cash would not cover making an original game?
