... *sigh*

Alright, listen, folks. I love me some JRPGs, and I'm a pretty big Final fantasy fan. I even thought XIII was alright. Sure, it had some problems, that I will not deny. But, nevertheless, I managed to enjoy it as a mediocre Final Fantasy game, nothing to write home about but decent.

Then XIII-2 came out, and was godawful. Yes, thats just my opinion, and I know some people enjoyed it and are free to disagree, but seriously, what the hell. This game pretty much had nothing to do with XIII, dumping anything XIII did right out the window (aside from improving the already excellent combat) in favor of hackneyed time travel bullshit and DLC.

So, seriously. Do we really want THIS?

Because I sure as hell don't.

The sad thing is, I'd probably end up playing it anyway... we don't get enough big budget JRPGS these days. >_> Dammit, Square. Make good games already, I know you can do it.

CAPTCHA: get well. Please?

I'm in the same boat as you. I liked 13, hated 13-2. Why would they do this to us? Just get back to the basics and bring FFX gameplay style back.

So what you're saying is Squeenix, which was what happened when two of the original cases of sequilitis had a baby, now has a mutated form of super sequilitis? I guess it sort of makes sense.

Wow, they're really milking this for all it's worth aren't they? And some people accuse Halo of overstaying it's welcome, yeah well get back to me on that when they release Halo 3-VI

I'd honestly prefer they worked on a 15th installment to be honest, rather than another sequel. I despised FFXIII, and FFXIII-2 was better in some areas, but worse in others, not sequel worthy though... Just dump it and move in.

I actually wouldn't mind them bringing back the CTB combat of FFX, the one saving feature of that game. I prefer it over the ATB stuff, especially the ATB system in FFXIII.

I didn't mind FFXIII and XIII-2 they were enjoyable, yes the battle system of 13 needed serious work, but 13-2 sort of fixed it, enough for me to get all the way through the game and still want a conclusion, and this had better be the conclusion

I know it's really nitpicky, but it bothers me soooo much that they went with another number for this sub-series rather than a subtitle (like Final Fantasy: Lightning 1, 2, 3 or Final Fantasy XIII: Relevant Subtitle 1, 2, 3). It's grating...to the eyes. Other than that, no opinion. Final Fantasy has never been where I went to get my JRPG fix.

see, i dislike the combat system of FFXIII-2 over the original. yeah the sequel took out the 30 hour tutorial, definite improvement. But you are also restricted more in the new games combat. Synergy is crap, sentinel is required, and every role is severely limited in what skills you actually learn.

Sentinel is overpowered as hell. Went the whole game without using it, barely touched it at all. Get to the final boss, one shots me with a 6k attack even though i had full buffs, full hp, and took down his two amigos. Tried again with sentinel, no buffs. His 6k attack turns into a 1k attack, and that is without using steelguard or anything. At least in FF13 all roles are equally viable.

That and i didnt like the whole monster party member thing. It is essentially a half a party member as you can only use 3 at a time, whereas there are 6 roles.

Personally, I've had enough of the current setting and world. I want the series to go back to the more traditional, medieval setting and art style of FFIX and FFXII. I loved those games to death! And please, please, please bring back the overworld. If Bethesda can create mammoth games like Skyrim, surely SE can create a similar all-connected world? Seeing that the FF series do not even have 20% of the loot and chests laying around, I don't see why it would be impossible. Too bad SquareEnix is putting all their resources into making cutscenes with emo characters all competing for worst hair cut of the year instead of focusing on what the fans really want.

Hopefully this means that KFJ and the rest of the crew will do an LP of this, too!

I enjoyed both ff13 and 13-2 but I'm surprised they've decided to spread the story over 3 games. Will this become the trend for all future final fantasies? I would love to here some news about versus.

Don't like it? vote with your wallet and don't buy FF products. As for me i liked FFXIII-2 and gladly buy XIII-3 because i want to see what will happen next.

XIII was quite good.
XIII-2 was average.

I don't see why they need to release a third one though? From what I gather, with the exception of XIV, these have been their most unpopular games, so why release more? Why not work on XV or something? Saying that, I will still probably play it - is it Final Fantasy after all. I just don't understand why.

Also (I'm not 100% sure as I got rid of my copy of XIII-2), isn't the ending DLC still not out? That was an utterly ridiculous move, in my opinion. I don't buy a game for £40 to have to fork out another £10 for the ending. I played the Sazh DLC too and that was dull as anything. And this is coming from someone who loves the Final Fantasy series.

Meh, I'd prefer them to work on a more free roamy FF 6/7 style FF, but whatever they want to do, I'm not really planning on buying XIII 2 or 3 any time soon.
