Hey People.

Been reading the forums here for a while as well as tuning in weekly for ZP, but never bothered to post a reply or throw in my opinion..

But now I would appreciate yours. Alot.

As the title states, I'm finally bored with WoW, and so are a few of my guildies. Any suggestions for a reasonable replacement?

Personally I would take the root I am.

Purge yourself of MMO's in general until Bioware releases the KOTOR MMO. If their past record shows anything, it will be amazing.

Something a little different but the same if that makes sense?! Obviously the WoW formula works but something too similar would be a bit silly!

Harder/easier makes no difference as long as its not too easy. As long as its fun!

I've heard a few make you buy items online at higher levels. This is not so cool!

Appreciate opinions!

If you have a pre-existing group of friends that will join with you, then Darkfall might be the way to go. It comes out late this month and is a skill-based MMO... the best kind IMO.

Sorry to double post, This hit me though, if your computer can handle it, Age of Conan is very fun, and it kinda plays a bit like Oblivion, I said kinda.

I suggest Warhammer Online. You'll at least be entertained for a few months cause its genuinely a good game and something new. However, being bored of WoW might mean that you're just bored of MMO's altogether.

I woulda said SWG...but there've been less and less people to the point where it's not worth it anymore.
I would recommend CoV/CoH, but even though it is pretty good, the combat seems kinda slow for me.
EVE Online is extremely slow and boring.

So probably...

The people who I will be playing with are online friends, who also enjoy wasting a bit of time in the week evening! My RL friends are much into online games unfortunately.

No preferences to speak of really. We are 26-30, as if that makes the slightest of difference... Just looking for something entertaining to get our teeth into for a bit! Just must be enjoyable in a social environment, where we can sit and do it together as we sit on skype and chat.

I looked at loads of the possibilites, but they are pretty much endless and alot look like WoW 'clones' to the untrained eye. Rather than sit downloading each one a trying it for a bit, sifting through crap I'd rather ask people for reasonable opinions...

Cheers for the suggestions though, i'll start investigating these.

Really... there isn't much variety of MMO's if you are bored with one... the next one you will play will get boring even faster.

Try Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine. It's free, it's Atlus and they've seldom done me wrong, and it has a few interesting quirks like attack timing rather than click and go, as well as a complete discarding of 'Classes', instead giving you access to a multitude of Disciplines, choosing which ones to allow your character to pursue, and having points given to it based on use. (With a limit, to prevent ubermastery).

It's still in Open Beta mode, but what they have is at the least new, interesting, and not too far out there to be uncomfortable. I heartily recommend it.
