This, like the the uni, should never have been invented. Only bad can come of this. People are dicks. Do inventors not realize this? If you invent something, it is a short matter of time before we figure out how to hurt people with it.

You know, this seems awesome and all, but you'll regret this invention if you ever find yourself being chased by a mugger or rapist armed with one. And you know it's only a matter of time before an unsupervised child gets mutilated or killed with one.

That actually sounds awesome. I would love to see people, especially children, hurt themselves with this. As long as they are hurting themselves, it is funny. Hurting other people is bad.

Can this really end well?

Depends on that you count as a good ending. People randomly going onto thee street irreversibly blinding other people? Then no, that won't end well.
