Finger nails...

I'm just wondering how long people have theirs?

Left hand is usually cut short, right hand I cut whenever I feel like it. I'm a guitar player. The nail of my ring-finger on my right hand I never cut. Partly because I like having one long nail, partly because I can use it as guitar pick.

Do you bite them?

Yup.

If you got long nails how on earth do you put up with them?!

How wouldn't I? It helps if you need to open something locked tight and when you're itching, and I can't really say I'm annoyed by long nails. Not until I start biting them so much that they partly come off and end up all hooky, though. One (very) long nail is alright, but I'm not interested in looking like Edward Scissorhands.

I've been trying to break the habit of biting my nails for ten years now.

Biting my nails and near-by skin has been a life long habit for me. Four weeks ago, I decided to stop. It is great not having to suffer constant bleeding and burns anymore. I still bite from time to time when I am seriously bored and have nothing to do with my hands, but I am so proud of these new nails. then my mom cut them so they can regrow evenly this time. Oh well, they will come back.

can't really say what nails I do like. Afterall, I bite mine, so I see nails at there worst.

I used to pick them, but I have weaned myself from doing it. They tend to get kind of long, but I clip them regularly.

I need to keep them really short, or else I start gnawing at them like a beast. (Over exaggeration, but you get the idea.)

Can't get out of the habit of biting them. But the reward sounds worth it.

If you want to quit, just pick one finger to bite just in case. In emergencies, I grind my grown nails with my teeth, but not actually biting. After that, it is just a matter of keeping your hands busy. One time, I did not notice I was biting my nail until it was already in my mouth. Those moments will go away.

If I haven't already chewed mine completely off while sitting at the computer or at work, then I cut them about every two weeks.

Long nails bug the crap out of me.
