Also I'm not really sure why people are saying activision "cares" for its customers. Does a caring company completely ignore its core fanbase when they request some glitch to be patched? Does a caring company simply piss on any improvements in their older games by releasing a new one before the old one was even fully polished?
You obviously don't understand programing, fixing an issue can take a lot of work and time and most people do want a new better game then just having the old one constantly fixed up. Activision cares for it's customers who exercise their speech by spending their money in a way that lets them know what they want. Millions of people buy the new Call of Duty you know what that means? Millions of people want the new Call of Duty.

It's not even a matter of fixing an issue. It's a 1-2 hour job a week on each platform to ban the accounts that hack and still play the game has so few players. AND YES I should complain because if I don't then Activision wouldn't know that they had unhappy customers. Your logic to not complain and move on because there are so many people that buy their shit is flawed. This reason alone makes it a valid point to complain.
Someone mentioned that they're keeping their fan base happy by releasing a new title annually. This is the exact naivete I'm directing my argument at. We shouldn't settle for more when the old stuff isn't up to snuff. Additionally I was referring to kids LITERALLY. It's no doubt that the key demographic for call of duty's seasonal return is the ages 12-15. Not the age group the game is "rated" for.
Why should we have to wait for the old stuff to be fixed when the new stuff is better in the first place?

It's not even a matter of fixing. It's a matter maintaining as mentioned before.

On top of that. My analogies DO hold true. Mountain dew doesn't get rid of its old recipe because it comes out with a new flavor. McDonalds doesn't get rid of the big mac because of a new double quarter pounder or some other slop that comes out.
Lets see, Pitch Black 2, Gamer Fuel, Typhoon, Distortion just to name a few. Burger King removed the Loaded Steakhouse Burger, and the Cheesy Tots. Companies discontinue products, it's how life works.

Yes but companies don't discontinue products that are SUCCESSFUL.

Games should be replayable. I don't want to settle for less.
Every game is replayable, in fact I have never played a game that is not replayable
Now you're just attacking semantically. Not the actual argument. A gone-to-shit multiplayer is not replayable. A linear, 2 dimensional 5-hour long single player is not replayable.

I have no problem with the annual CoD franchise release. I do, however, have a problem with Infinity Ward and Microsoft doing absolutely nothing to stop the THOUSANDS of hackers who plague CoD4 and have utterly ruined it for the past several months.

Do you know how simple it would be to ban these idiots or patch the infection lobbies out of existence? ... Actually I don't, but I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult. Unfortunately it's never going to happen, because they've moved on and left CoD4 to rot, even though it's EASILY the best multiplayer shooter out there to this day.

So you're saying that they abandon any support for games once a new one comes out? If that's it then I agree. But what can you do?

It's rants like these that give gamers a bad name. Honestly, "Frik you"? If your not going to swear don't swear at all.
I love it when people just attack you for no reason. Look, everyone saying "if you don't like it just don't play the game." I rebound to you: If you don't like my complaint don't complain back. Simple as that. And no I didn't want to swear in the title because I didn't have my bases covered yet. I desired to start with a mild expletive and then build up to my fuck you moment. Thank you for not reading.

EXACTLY. This is EXACTLY MY POINT. It's not even a problem that needs patching. It's such a simple fix but of course they've left it as you've said, to rot.

The issue there is with you not the game, if you have an issue with the single player of a game then that is your fault. Supporting Multiplayer cost the company money and since CoD is free to play online that money is coming out of their profits, a 6 year old game isn't going to sell that many copies so they will run out of money to support it.

I find it hilarious that you call it "their game" when referring to Activision. They published it, not developed it.

Do people still seriously not know the difference between a publisher and developer?

Oh, btw, if you don't like the next game in the series, don't buy it. Stick to the one you do like and play it.

As for the "hacker" thing... Yeah, that's why I still play Valve games, they tend to care enough to implement one of the better "anti-cheat" methods.

Also, you might want to note: Publishers are profit finding whores. You should know that by now, hell, EA took heat for practically the same things a few years back and are starting to get it again with pre order bonus' and the forcing of Origin onto a machine that doesn't want it.

I'll tell you what you can do. You can complain. You can tell them unless they start respecting their customers and their own work they aren't going to be taking your money.

It's actually more difficult then you would think, it takes a lot of time and effort to even find what it is that is causing these issues, never mind how to fix them.
I would also like to point out that they moved on from CoD4 because the majority of their users moved away from CoD4

The thign is the dev: IW no longer exists. It's activision's responsibility to maintain their IPs anyways.

I know that it's happened before but that doesn't mean you can't complain about it. I know forum posts aren't going to get me anywhere but people need to hear my argument. People need to think for a moment and realize that as the customer you have the right to demand better service.

Well I didn't buy MW2 and aren't buying MW3 either. Diehard fan as I was, I don't much care for it anymore.

Even if they maintained the game on a limited level it shouldn't be this dramatic of a necrosis. They really have completely let the game just fade away. I demand more service than what I receive. Hell just patching in a "vote to kick" option would probably completely solve the issue.

Grrrrrrrrrrr... what I really want to say would get me in trouble with the mods.
Suffice to say, quite your whining! Activision is a business, so of course they're out to make money. And if people like YOU are any example, there's no point in them trying to please their fanbase, so why shouldn't the do what they're doing. I'm sure they figure it's what the people want. ...except for an extremely vocal minority, of course.

No not at all. I suggest that they stop just discarding their old accomplishments in exchange for quick profits. I don't care if CoD goes on to Call of Dutt 67: Master Chief vs. Captain Price. I just want them to at least keep their games going on beyond 6 years. Look at CS! They have a thriving community that's been going and going and going and hasn't gone to crap. There's no reason this couldn't be done. I mean there are so few games of CoD4 that actually still go on it'd just be a matter of getting on an admin account and doing a few bans every week. No more than 1-2 hours tops. AND YET nothing happens.
There's barely any games going on cod4?

Have you been on recently? Its thriving alright.

..... OK whut? Seriously you act as those activision was killing babies in a ritualistic manner or something. You really beleive that activision is the only one who has left old games to go their way when new titles come out? The same for just about every single console available game out there that has a squeal. (I say console based because PC games have extended life spans over Consoles. Look at how many people still play starcraft 1.)

Hell why blame activision why not blame dice? Battlefield 2 was a great game of its time but it was left to rot when BF2142 came out. Then that was left to rot when Bad company came out, Then that was left to rot when Bad Company 2 came out, and thats going to be left to rot when BF 3 Comes out.

I seriously dont get why your rage is pointed at activision. They sponsor good games alot of the time. Just because any of the COD series served its time honorably and was replaced dosent make them evil hate spewing, money parasites. They dont get money because people dont pay for things you know...

Your rage is seriously misguided if not sadly delusional. I have more than enough reason to beleive that during any of the CODS time to shine they received the utmost of money/time/effort/patches/fixes/updates/tweaks/fansupport that it needed to be more successful than many game series out there that just release a turd and let it sink or swim. (duke nukem). Thats more than enough proof to say that activision cares more about there titles than many other developer teams out there.

THEN COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM ALL! Don't you guys get it?!
IT's NOT JUST ACTIVISION. WE AS GAMERS DESERVE MORE SERVICE. People who buy 60 dollars worth of food at a fancy restaurant GET MORE SERVICE AND RESPECT THAN WE DO. ALL DEVELOPERS NEED TO REALIZE ITS CUSTOMERS AREN'T IDIOTS. It's people like you who stifle complaints who tell them to shut up that's slowing down the creation of a better world for both gamers AND developers.

No, by any standards there are very few games outside of "promod" servers and on xbox there's maybe only 3-4 games the auto connect sends you to at any given time.

Is this guy for real? I feel like I just read the script to an over-dramatic play. Not to mention he's essentially making the same points that members of this site have agreed upon since its birth. He's not going to get anywhere with this because he's essentially preaching to the choir.
