First FPS I played extensively and on my own PC was Half Life. But I do remember playing either Doom or Heretic 1st on my godfather's PC when I was little and being terrified of it when he would leave me to play alone in the room.

Star Wars Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight
At the age of 8, my odd infatuation with Kyle Katarn began.
For me it was the original Dark Forces, at, I think the age of 12. Still, an absolutely fantastic series that's been dead for far too long.

Doom when it was first released. Then Wolfenstein 3D (even though that came out earlier). Then Quake 1. Then I discovered System Shock 2, followed by Deus Ex, and could never really go back to straight FPS games again.

Well... Actually my first "First person" game ever was "The Elder Scrolls: Arena" (very first tes). But you can hardly call it a shooter.

Shooter wise it would have to be Doom.

Wolfenstein 3-D, I loaded it onto the school's computers in the computer lab in 8th grade. That was the first and last time that I was popular in school... sniff

Mine is a pretty obscure one. It's Heretic. A first person shooter set in a DnD universe. It was release not long after Doom on the Snes i think but it's definitively in the top 10 first FPS ever. It also had a pair of Lightning Gauntlet so you could roam every level Palpatine's Style.

If I remember correctly it was Wolfenstein. Ah what a game!
Totally Wolfenstein 3D.
Great game!

I remember my dad watching me play, but telling me that I could only shoot guys who shot me first, since he didn't really like the violence. Until he finally said 'Wait, are those guys Nazis??' and I said 'yeah', so he goes 'Well then just shoot 'em! Shoot those Nazis!'

Awesome.

Mine was PROBABLY, Doom, but I of course never finished it or anything. I don't remember too many shooters in my younger days, mostly I remember the N64 ones such as Goldeneye 007 and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter...

I have some Playstation FPS games, but not many... I can't remember if I played them before or after my N64 ones, though...

Hmm. The first one I can remember is Duke Nukem 3D. I may have played Doom or Quake before that. It was at my friend George's house. I must have been about 8-9.
