Wolfenstein 3D.
Aah, the good old days. Well, actually the badly pixellated days, but still....
Wolfenstein 3D! Yay! I love that game. Though it actually isn't the first FPS I played, but it was fairly close.
The first FPS I played was actually Star Wars: Dark Forces. Other than that stupid save system frustrating my young brain, I liked it. I saw my mum playing Wolfenstein 3D around the same time, but I was only 6 years old and so she was kind of hesitant to let me play it but I remember her running some test on my lake "You know this is not school stuff/Shooting things in real life = bad" blah blah blah, and let me hop on and try. It was actually outdated by then (Obviously Dark Forces was more advanced) but I actually liked it more. The arcade style (and the ability to save any goddamned place) really appealed to me.
I still love Wolf 3D and Doom and the old school shooters. Wolfenstein 3D is blocky and primitive, but I still really love it when I want to blow off some steam. Same with Doom.
