The first console I've owned (christmas gift) was SNES, first game I played with it was Super Mario World. As far as the first computer game I installed to my first pc, it was Doom.

Now way before I ever got my first console or pc, the very first game I recall playing was Adventure on the Atari 2600. I was so young I couldn't figure out how to play it though... Stupid dragon...

First game on a console was the first Sonic the Hedgehog of course (I game I am yet to complete for some reason...) and the first game I played on the PC was Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honour (a game which I recently cracked out again and played to death for a week)

The year was 1994. We just got a new computer. My dad picked up DOOM from the store, and I would sit on his lap and watch him play. Sometimes we would take turns playing, where he would look/shoot and I would move, or I would shoot/look and he would move. It was amazing. Its how we spent time together. He worked long hours in construction, and was tired whenever he got home. So to have fun together we played DOOM. Oh how we played that game...

That was my first game for a PC. My dad later brought out his old Atari 2600 and my first console game was Pitfall.

Good times.

really surprised to see so few people that have played games from the pre-16-bit era... surely you all can't be that young?
Perhaps your just old?

:p

Kidding, if its any consolation, I played on an Atari 2600 when I was younger.

PC - that would be Star Wars: Jedi Academy. I remember our computer was so bad at the time that it couldn't actually handle 3D Graphics, so we had to get a new graphics card.

First console was a Gamecube, and that came with Star Wars: Rebel Strike, so that was my first console game. I have no nostalgic experiences whatsoever.

It's because Scrap Yard Zone is cheap as hell.

Seriously, that's an instant death around every corner. You can't walk 10 steps in the first part without finding something ready to instantly kill you!

At least it isn't Metropolis Zone, Act 3 from Sonic 2. That shit was just brutally unfair with the Mantis boomerangs waiting for you after jumping to a new ledge. The Star Mines on all the screw elevators...

ARGH!
That is true. I do hate Scrap Yard Zone.... Although, last time I tried I crashed and burned on Marble Zone which is just embarrassing. As for Metropolis Act 3 - That level fills me with rage especially when you're Super Sonic because it is next to impossible to platform at those speeds and then you run out of rings and become pathetic Mortal Sonic which in turn makes it impossible to platform when you're such a pathetic mortal hedgehog....
