The story doesn't seem right. I mean, Cerberus trying to kill Shepard? What if you gave the Illusive Man the Collector base? Wouldn't you be on good terms with him? I certainly hope that comes through.

Also, I wonder if this James Sanders is in any way related to Khali Sanders from the novels.
No. The illusive man was just using Shepard the entire time. Once he got what he wanted from him (the collector base), he no longer has use for him. Shepard will just get in the way of TIM's plans.

If you're paragon its self explanatory why Cerberus is out to get you.

Right. But what if you're Renegade, who spend the whole game denouncing the Alliance and the Citadel, and talking about how you support Cerberus? And then you hand him the base. It seems like an odd choice to say, "Let's kill him anyway." It's not justified. It's like all those decisions you made didn't even matter. So why even make them?

Always got to weigh in on the Mass Effect stuff. I'll likely have an opinion on everything in that article so as may as well run through all the points I want to pick up on in order.

Cerberus now out to kill Shepard instead of helping him. If we're talking Cerberus as the Cerberus that Illusive Man actually has control of, that would leave me annoyed. I took the renegade route at the end of the game, so TIM should have no reason to hate on me that much. On the other hand, certain rogue elements of Cerberus have tried to take down Shepard before, so there could be some background there. I still can't see TIM trying to kill off the very person he spent a crazy amount of credits to bring back.

Returning squadmates. Liara: would be neat, but I feel her story was sufficiently played out in LotSB. She isn't really much like the character we knew back in ME1, so she's better hanging around back in her base.

Garrus: no complaints there.

Ashley/Kaiden: Ashley is the survivor in my playthrough, but I've met both in ME2. Both of them were complete jerks - the less I see of them the better.

I don't personally mind not having Wrex along with Shepard again - as long I've got Grunt along with me, my badass Krogan needs are fulfilled. I can imagine you having to persuade Wrex to get all the Krogan clans together to help against the Reapers.

Legion is definitely needed back as squadmate in ME3 - we just didn't get enough of...them(?) the first time around.

All the gameplay changes they cite there sound okay to me, though I'm not too sure about having all classes being able to use all weapons. If that was done, there'd need to be more to differentiate the classes. otherwise they'd more or less end up just being soliders with slightly different abilities.

I predict Jack and Miranda will have put aside their differences and joined forces to launch a fashion range aimed at the lucrative female biotic market.

I am soo stoked for this game. However, I think from this point on, I'm gona try and avoid all the pre-release info. ME2 gave so much away before it even came out.
can you get me a link to that?, as in full size because I can't see half the text

Cerberus is out to kill Shepard? I get that in the case of the ending I chose, where I gave him the finger and blew up the base, but what about those who decided the preserve the base for Cerberus to study? Why would Cerberus be trying to kill him?

Other than that, sounds freaking awesome. Hope this is actually accurate, for the most part at least. I'll need to get Arrival.

I'm sorry mate, thats that biggest picture I can get, I just found it on a comment on an article on Kotaku. :(

I think the red box is pretty much saying that Liara, Garrus, Ash/ Kaiden and Sanders will be squadmates, Wrex, Mordin, Legion and Anderson will also be in it, and the final two it mentions are TIM and Udina, not sure in what context, enemies maybe?

I wonder if Cerberus being against Shepard has something to do with all the Reaper artifacts they've been studying. Maybe they all suddenly become active with the return of the Reapers and start mind controlling everyone.

In my first playthrough, I got Mordin and Thane killed in the not-so-Suicidal mission, but I so want to have them back in ME3. In fact, I think I'll got back through ME2 again and have Jack, Grunt, Jacob, Samara, Tali and Garrus my "dead squadmates". I can see Jack, Grunt and Jacob being completely irrelevant to the story, so no qualms there. Samara was a cool character, but likewise, she's probably not that important to ME3. Tali and Garrus are more there to troll myself, since I want to have people dead (well, not Mordin anyway) to make up for me being an idiot in the suicide mission, but I want them to be important characters that people will hate to lose. I like Garrus more than Tali, but Garrus seems like he's going to be a part of the side story, whereas Tali is most certainly going to be part of the main plot arc if she survives. Depends on whether or not Mordin and Thane are confirmed party members or not I guess.

I also didn't pick Miranda because the whole Cerberus thing seems pretty important. I still don't like her very much, but Miranda, The Illusive Man and hopefully Miranda's Father should be a big part of the story.
