EDIT: And could everyone please stop saying religion?
What's the problem with porn? I love porn (and yes I have a GF). Porn is pretty sweet, hots ladies fucking? Why is that bad? And if you say it's demeaning I wouldn't mind getting paid thousands of dollars a shoot to be demeaned...

Religion
Languages
Lethal Weapons
Lights
Unrealistic Marketing

1) Religion - I'm all for the positivity and good treatment of others that religion reinforces. However, anything considered a law or expectation from its followers within religion must go for there to be relative peace. Religion works best as a compilation of moral stories that can be shared amongst individuals or groups of people.

2) Languages - While not a popular choice I'm sure. I believe the world would be a better place for everyone if we all spoke a universal language. I have no preference at all what that language would be. There are tons of other means to individualize ourselves and our cultures beyond simply the language we speak.

3) Lethal Weapons - I see very little reasons for guns, bombs or disease based weapons when there are plenty of non-lethal means out there to stop people with little chance of causing permanent damage.

4) Lights - People live healthier lives when they follow their bodies natural reaction to go to sleep at sunset and wake-up around sunrise. The implementation of this would basically be impossible though as too many fun things give off light such as TV/Computers or even simply candles to keep people awake into the late hours.

5) Unrealistic Marketing - If advertising/modeling of any kind depicted truly random people at all times, this would no doubt make for healthier upbringings and greater self-confidence in the impressionable youth. In addition, marketing products like food would utilize product chosen at random from random stores. Example: Creating an add for McDonald's cheeseburger? Then choose any McDonald store at random, choose a random time of day and utilize a random cheeseburger to photograph without any visual enhancements. Products and services should be sold on their daily merits alone, not based on what could be done in the most ideal circumstances or what is only possible with tricks of the trade.

I really loathe those who thinks war/nazism/communism etc. should have been never invented, think about it, all great technological achievements were made during wars, you maybe will be still living in stone age if war was never here, human has no predators so only war between humans is force that push us forward. also one dude wrote he wants nuclear fission never invented, lets see what kind of electricity do you use, and what kind is the most pollution free. think deeper people.

my list contains:

1. Mass religion
2. Mass religion
3. Mass religion
4. Mass religion

There is a ring of hell reserved for only you, mi amici.
Quite so.

I could bring up reasons I think these things have been detrimental, but I'd only be playing devil's advocate. They are all things I love.

Atheism wasn't invented. It's a lack of belief in something that was invented.

1. Atheists (because it's annoying how every third post is someone that thinks they're cool and edgy for posting religion as a response even though it's already painfully overused)
2. Your favorite thing in the world.

I don't get all the hate on religion. Ya, it has lead to some serious dark chapters in humanity's history, but so much of our civilization was built around it.
And America was founded on pilgrims, but that doesn't mean we should all wear buckle-hats.
I dont know about that, buckle hats are pretty cool.

OT:
1. Call of duty

3. Obama Health Care
4. 90% of Hollywood movie reboots

Not everyone agrees. All have the right to their own opinion. Good try, though.
I'm still just trying to find anyone who says religion is bad to actually be able to back up that claim. I'm not trying to take away your rights man, ease up.
Well I have to say my first would be religion. I'm not here to cause friction etc, but as far as I'm concerned, the practices and legislations of religion itself (not the notion of God and so on) I find to be particularly damaging to society.

To me religion takes away one's notion for thinking for yourself. I'll sit down and let this guy tell me why the world works the way it does...yeah that's easier. I can't do that, maybe some can but I can't. And do I really have to get into how damaging religion has been to the world? The amount of wars, entire races of people destroyed in the name of God/Allah/Jimmy Hendrix whatever...very silly.

Alas, to each his own (even though I hate that saying).

I think they're pretty self-explanitory...
So we all use the barter system and live in fiefdoms? Interesting, I would have thought some corruption was better than being skewered by a knight because my harvest this year wasn't good enough. To each their own, I guess.

Anyway:

Really Deep V-necks. Although they do allow me to spot douchebags at long distance, and avoid them...

Regents Tests (and similar). They do a poor job of testing knowledge, and make school about passing tests rather than trying to actually learn anything. A test should be just that, a way to test whether you learned anything, not the end goal.

Text Speech. It gave phone companies an excuse to not have full keyboards on cell-phones, and it makes reading some of my friend's Facebook status's laughably impossible.

Cracked.com's Video player. Dear god, it randomly un-pauses, it auto-plays the next video, it's incredibly slow and looks ugly. I never watch their videos anymore because of it.

The infomercial. Do you need to know why?
