Mila and her crew were playing card in the hanger. They were geting minor maintence taken care of and the lead fixer-uper guy owed her a favor.

"Royal Flush, read it and weep guys"

The crew handed over their money, while Mila was the only woman in her crew, she was practically one of the guys.

Mila heard an announcment over the P.A, somthing about the leaders of the Ventures squadrens meeting. She grumbeled, she was winning and hated to leave a good game. Still it was work and her guys had families to feed. So she stood up and headed over the the Bar, she ordere her guys to get to the Venture.

Inside she saw the captain, she remebered his name was Eric, he was talking with another guy, she remembered him from the crew mixer, he was in charge of the bombers.

Mila pulled up a seat next to the two and rested her feet on the table while ordering a drink

"Sup' captain, We going on some crazy adventure? I had my guys go to the ship and our Corvettes should be there soon, just having a little matience done on them."

Eric raised his eyebrow at Mila.

"We've not taken any jobs currently, I was waiting for the others first."

Mila's drink arrived and she drank half of it with one gulp before slamming the glass on the table.

"You mean Devon? Where is that guy anyways?"

Devon lowered his head, chuckling slightly in embarrassment at the broadcast Lucy sent out. He never quite understood what was wrong with the AI, but he found it humorous regardless. He tapped the quick message button on his communicator twice, and all the members of Terra Squadron received two beeps. Knowing that meant to return to the commander, his squadron all dropped their various activities around the station and went to the docking bay where the Errant Vulture was located.

The 6 found their way to the ship, where Devon was waiting patiently. He addressed them all, "I just received a message from the captain. All squadron leaders are to meet with him briefly, and all other personel are to wait on the ship. Wait in your quarters. I will return shortly." The 6 saluted him, and he turned and left.

Devon walked to the 'Silver Wing' as he was instructed, seeing the many odd people of the galaxy sitting at the various tables in the bar. People with piercings and tatoos of every shape in the oddest places. Some had curious hair, some had curious clothing. Upon scanning the bar, Devon located Captain Davidson, and approached him formally. "Good day, Captain."

"Hey Devon's here guys" Mila said as she finished her drink. She had another one in her hand before Devon had sat down.

"So captain, now that we're all here what are we gonna do?"

"Getting the ship of the ground would be a good idea." Lucy injected, her arms folded, "The Guild have agreed to pay for us to take the trails, but after that your on your own financially and their servers are restricted to members, so that means no contracts too-"

She paused, tilting her head as if listening intently at something, then sighed and muttered something in Russian under her breath, "and yet another drain on my mainframe joins the crew. how lovely."

The AI turned her semi-transparent features to Eric, "Got another corvette squadron for you Captain, I'll send his details to your pad. But aside from that i don't think we need to discuss anything else, Besides, the barman is giving you dirty looks."

With that she vanished and the holopad in the centre of the table shut down.

Devon's gaze intensified as he heard Lucy. "ANOTHER Corvette squadron? Dammit, we don't need another Corvette squadron! Weren't we supposed to find an Inteceptor squadron here? THAT'S what we need! Our squadron can't hold off an Inteceptor Squad by ourselves! We'd get destroyed if one attacked us! I know Corvettes have the firepower to take them down... But they don't have the speed. Call me paranoid, but I think we need some Interceptors."

"Who slow down there Devon" Mila said as she finished another drink. "While interceptors have the speed and the capabilites, they would still have to get past the corvette screen. We could advance in a line and push the fighters back."

She began on her third drink before continuting

"I do think it would be prudent do have an interceptor squadren, but most of those guys have lucrative contracts with the more well established captains. Considering we're just starting out we might not get our interceptors right away, but I do thnk we should eventually aquire them."

Eric pulled out his pad, looking at the information Lucy had sent him.

"Good lord, how do you pronounce that?! Oh, nevermind."

He looked around at his assembled crew.

"Interceptors would be nice, but corvettes are fine for now. We can have one 'vett squadron for defense, and one for covering our bombers and strike-fighters."

"So, when do we take the ships out? I want to get familiar with how we will operate out there"
"The sooner we get to gunning, the better." said a brisk voice, at nearly eye level with the table.
"Captain Davidson, pleasure and honor." said the small man with a salute. "I hear-tell of the creation of a mercenary squadron, and you're the man to see."

Eric looked down at the small man.

"Oh, um...hello?"

He glanced back at his pad.

"I assume you're...Klarfalgue? And, uh, call me Eric."

Eric pulled the cup out of Mila's hand.

"All right, you've had enough. I want you to be able to fly straight."

He put it on the bar and folded his arms.

"Besides, it's time to go. We'll get the Venture ready to go, and take these trials they've got for us."

"Psst, that stuff is so watered down it'll take six jsut to get me buzz. Anyhow, should we get to the Venture and have a briefing about the trials there or shold the leaders just talk here."

"We should get aboard the Venture before Lucy gets impatient."

Eric made sure his pad was securely on his belt.

"Alright, move out!"

He pointed at the door, before standing up and walking towards it.

With a partial look of insubstantiality, Klau turned from the table and began to follow Captain Eric at about the same pace as Mila and the rest of the newly informally created Squadron Flight.
"That's it? 'Looks like I arrived a bit late to the party." said Klau half to himself and the other half to everyone else. He pulled out a communicator to have Calliope Flight redirected to the Errant Venture's docking partitions, still an ear piqued to the new group.

Although constructed and controlled by the alliance military as the hub of Earth's Defense Network, Luna Station York was still open to Alliance Citizens and those of allied nations, merchants, businessmen and off-duty soldiers still crowded the corridors, reassured by the heavy Naval presence in the Home system.

Once they had stepped clear of the bar's threshold, they were into the crowds, weaving between Alliance Security teams and Republic travelers, but everyone stepped aside to let a trio of Sisters from the Covenant to pass unhindered.

The Two knights walking proud in the gleaming silver amour that turned them into walking tanks, the heavy multi-barreled cannon one held resting on her shoulder like a cane further reinforcing the image, her sister carried a large caliber assualt rifle. A lesser armored Cleric walked between them in her golden robes of office, a simple pistol on her hip. All three women were nearly eight feet in height and their grayish skin and red eyes reminding all that looked upon them that they were so very different from humanity. For a start most of them were older than it.

The cleric smiled and nodded at the Errant Venture's crew as the two parties arrived at the lift down to the shipyards simultaneously. The Knights simply watched them with neutral expressions.

"The Star-Mother bless you, Faithless." the cleric said warmly, "and may her light guide to to your journey's end."
