Did we meet her on an off day in Dragon age 1 or something? I mean she can turn into a dragon that would of been useful fighting the blight.
Agreed. His bio-page, and Mike Laidlaw, say he loves nothing more than exaggerating and bypassing little quibbles like "Reality". That is why Characters take flying balletic leaps and Hawke kills dozens of Darkspawn without trouble while the Grey Warden had to take a serious run up to manage that. It's just his artistic licence.Irridium said:Hawke's past is being told by a Dwarf who heard it from someone else. Of course some details are going to get stretched and things will look more interesting then they actually are. Especially when the dwarf seems like the sarcastic sort who would embellish the truth a bit.
And for those who are wondering, he's talking about the Dragon Age 2 demo.
When I first saw this thread I thought it would be all about how Flemeth looks so different in the demo compared to Origins. I'm actually a little confused now as to what it's actually about; Flemeth could and did turn into a High Dragon in Origins (if the player sided with Morrigan).MatParker116 said:Did we meet her on an off day in Dragon age 1 or something? she does tun into a dragon if you fight her during morrigans loyalty questMatParker116 said:Did we meet her on an off day in Dragon age 1 or something? I mean she can turn into a dragon that would of been useful fighting the blight.
I understand that is a viable explanation for the change; the true extent of Flemeths power was left ambiguous so she could conceivably be able to alter her human form (Even though Morrigan specifically tells you it is not possible to shapeshift into different human forms).Talson said:Flemeth's a shape shifter. In DA:O you saw her as she appeared to most people and, assumable, Morrigan most of the time. In the demo, she just transformed back from her dragonic form to investigate how a bunch of ragamuffins could take down an Ogre. She changed her shape to fit the occasion. Either that, or someone told the character designers/modelers to have a bit more fun with the way people look in this game (Isabelle and the dwarf support this idea, as does the horned guy from the cinematic trailer).
EDIT: Remember guys, Isa was in DA:O she was the lady in the Pearl who taught you to be a Duelist.

I just think it's a bit weak. I mean it's different with Isabella in that while her general appearance and voice has changed the core character is essentially the same. But with Flemeth, she was always portrayed in the first game as someone who hid her true power and motives behind a veneer of senility; this new interpretation of Flemeth seems less subtle.
I'm just hoping the writers were able to explain changes between the games in a way that is believable for the character. If they can do that I'll be one happy camper.
Flemeth isn't Human so you can't apply the same rules to her that you would to Morrigan. At the end of Witch Hunt Morrigan says that Everything Flemeth is meant to be, a bizarre and rare abomination/posessed mage, is just another lie Flemeth let spread. Also Varric's bio says he is economical with truth at the best of times and nothing ruins a good story like the truth. http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/world/characters/varric/HonestJoe1574 said:I understand that is a viable explanation for the change; the true extent of Flemeths power was left ambiguous so she could conceivably be able to alter her human form (Even though Morrigan specifically tells you it is not possible to shapeshift into different human forms).
Yes, you did. She saved you from Ostagar, and healed you and Alistair, and gave her daughter (Morrigan) to you to... tag along, I guess.MatParker116 said:Did we meet her on an off day in Dragon age 1 or something? I mean she can turn into a dragon that would of been useful fighting the blight.
