unnessecary and excessive physical contact is one of the more obvious ones imo
Lots of laughing too. And she'll smile a lot.

Or that's what I do when I flirt.

About physical contact, one of my friends keeps pushing her forearm into mine like a playfull push. Is this the kind of contact you mean?
Sure that kind of thing, touching your hair etc. Oh! Taking your shit and refusing to give it back. Apparently that was flirting... who knew?
*shared flashback to our moms hugging us, fussing with our hair, laughing at our bad jokes, and taking away our pokemans when we took too long to do a chore*

...MOM?!?!

or, to be precise, "O-KASAN?!?!"

I don't know. I am the last person to ask since I have a syndrome that specifically IS making it hard for me to catch these signs, among other things.

If I've ever a hope of getting a girl, she MUST say it aloud. Otherwise It's absolutely impossible for me to know at the moment.

But, you still have hope, right? RIGHT?!

In my opinion I have always thought of flirting as a useless thing. If somebody likes someone else they need to tell them and not hint at it. If anybody does try to flirt with me I will not know it and think they just want to talk. I like it when people get to the point.

something about pupils
I heard that a person's pupils dialate when a person is aroused. Something due to blood flow.
is that when they grow big or shrink? i can never remember
The black part grows to let in more light, so the color areas thin out. I forget all the medical names :p

coloured part is the iris

Hm, seeing these tips I think I'll never get a flirt.

1: I have autism, I don't recognise body language that well.
2: I have autism, I don't want to be touched all of the sudden.
3: I hate it when people call me cute or giggle because I don't know what's so funny. No it's not because of autism.
4: Other people with autism won't know how I flirt either, so it doesn't work.
5: I don't know anything for 5. Autism.

Well, maybe you want to keep this syndrome a secret or not. ,:S But I think it's better if you're more open for it.

Not entirely sure. Last time around, I was convinced she just wanted to be friends, and I banished all thoughts of progressing the relationship. Turned out to be wrong, happily. That's constructive pessimism for you.

I guess talking a lot may be a sign.

I never can tell. That's why, I just ask. Well, I should clarify: unless said girl is being obvious about it (throwing her clothing at me in a public place would probably be obvious enough), I often can't tell.

To help people understand my obliviousness, I don't have any unique brain conditions, even though....

Same girl I mentioned before, was driving me around so that I could tutor her. At some point she (in a very languid, feline way) stretched out her whole body accentuating her body. My first thought, "Wow, she must be really tired!"

>_<

No idea, sometimes they can just be fun and seem like it.
Other times, they might actually be doing that..

Its sometimes impossible to tell the difference...

..eh.

If you're legitimately funny and know it, tell her a bad joke. If she still laughs or doesn't make an awkward scene of it, you're clear. If it just gets super awkward, she's not really that into you.

I normally try these things out on holiday. If it works well you have a nice girlfriend. If it doesn't work out you won't see her ever again ^^

Basically it's when they're talking to you at length about nothing at all. Usually they'll laugh a lot or play with their hair.

With many girls, it's hard to tell the difference between genuinely flirty and simply teasing you for personal amusement. Every sign for both has already been mentioned so far. Pretty much, is she laughing a lot, making excuses to touch you (playfully, not sexually), and is she making attempts at progressing the conversation (which will go much better if she is the one telling you the story/opinion and you are the one making the comments).

How do I recognize when a girl is flirting with me? I'm painfully oblivious to such things and want to help my perception. Assume I know nothing :p
I feel you.
Why, I do believe that is flirting!

Jokes, jokes.

But at the OP, what some other people have been saying: unnecessary or excessive physical contact is a definite indicator.

I often find myself in situations where it isn't entirely clear when someone is flirting with me. Luckily, I found a solution: I ask them if they are flirting with me.

If she touches you a lot when she speaks, like lightly brushing your arm and stuff when you're talking. I don't know, maybe girls just do this to me, or they were just very touchy-feely people, but this is universally true of every girl I've dated, or every girl who was hitting on me. There are probably just as many girls too shy to do stuff like that to someone they like. But, yeah, when I feel flirty, I often get really playful with the person I like, and most other girls I know do too.
