In person? About 20% of the time.

Online? Well, I can't very well bend over someone's mom if I don't know where they live, now can I?
You can try.
True, I can, but it rarely gets me very far. I can TRY to materialize $50 million, but so far my efforts have been in vain. Fantasy is so misleading.

You just have to believe.
I would, but then she dumped me.

Those aren't threats at all, just hyperbole. A hollow threat is when you are intended to take the threat seriously, but the person making the threat cannot or will not follow through with it.

My question to YOU escapists, is if you do make threats, do you follow through with them?
I don't make threats. Especially not online, although tend to argue a lot I can't ever remember making the classic 'say that to mah face toughguy' line pre teen internet tough guys love.

In fact the last time I got in a fight over anything was ages (and ages) ago, even then it lasted the whole of two punches.

I'm not saying I did, and i'm not saying I didn't.
I think I would notice if someone tried to kill me, you know!

Do I follow through on my threats.
Hmm. Well, only if I meant them. If I threaten my friends, no. But otherwise, I am always deadly serious about my threats, as long as I'm not online, clearly.
You can't beat people through the internet.
Yet.
Your tenacity is astounding, twice now you cheat death. Unless...I wonder who that was? meh its probably irrelevant. Anyways I like the idea of beating people through the internet, I'm sure I could find some use for it.

A kid on an MMORPG tried that and supplied his address and phone number. Less than a minute later, he was wondering why people were calling him.

Uhm, I never have to.
Telling somebody to stop doing something "or else I'm gonna clobber you over the head!" is convincing enough.

I am death.
Duh.
Ah, I guess if death thinks I'm going to eventually kill a bunch of people, I have no choice...
I'm off for a spot of vengeance followed by jail time, see you all in a couple of life sentences, then...Cheerio!

I'll let you know if I ever meet the long list of unknown game developers/programmers marked for death.
