Theres not much point making a threat you cant follow up, because if they call your bluff you look stupid. My dad always said 'if your gonna threaten them you might as well punch them first, that way they know you're serious'. Nice guy...

I don't tend to make threats at all.

I mean I'll say to a friend that I'll hurt them if they do something, which if they do that something, generally results in a punch to the arm or a kick in the shins.

Making threats is useless, if you need to be agressive in a situation, it just makes it look like you are stalling.
