You mean a human having sex with a robot or a robot having sex with a robot?

If it's a human, than it could probably work given the right circumstances but there would be no human/robot hybrids. Robot with a robot is a matter of you could, but why would you want to?

I think it's possible...after all, for a perfectly human seeming robot, then how will you tell the difference between someone who is flesh and blood and a robot? And I mean if it's the whole shebang, like human-like thoughts, emotions, and feels like a robot, then yes, there would be love, and sex. Obviously, the sex part is a forgone conclusion, especially for most men. Love, of course, would be harder...but if it/she/he never told you, would you know?

One caveat to this...making your own robot with your dream girl in mind would not be true love. Almost none actually ever falls in love with their dream type...it's usually the opposite, in fact.

But it'd be comfortable, I suppose, and that's the best some of us will ever do.
Agreed, I won't ever feel comfortable with most women so making my own is all I can do.[/quote]

Or buying, in the context of purchasing a robot, as a household object. At first, anyway.

Personally, I can't see myself having a deeply loving relationship with a robot, no matter how human it appears to be, because it'll always just be an imitation of real life.

I don't think you could really love a robot. You could have sex with a robot though and if Futurama has taught us anything it's that the Space Pope is reptilian. Sorry, what were we talking about? Oh yeah, the robots. Bad idea, we don't want to put prostitutes out of work.

I'd have a LOT of ethical issues with that idea... now sex with aliens. That's just smashing.
What about alien robots?

What's this crap? You don't know me, or the others here.
Calm down, it was just a figure of speech. Maybe I should have phrased it differently but there's certainly no need to get so worked up about it.

Love? Well, it can certainly be simulated and the user could experience the emotions associated with it. True love between two souls? No, robots/androids, don't have souls.

As much as the character of Johnny Five appeals to me, "They just run programs". No matter how intricate a program is or how closely, even perfectly, it mimics human behavior, it is still a code script, not a soul. Of course, some will argue that humans don't have souls, and that our behavior is essentially a very very very complex code programmed by our parents, environment, and experience. I agree that a majority of our behavior is "programmed", but I still believe in the soul and the "human" element.

Sex? Physically, you could make a robot/android that could be as physically gratifying as the real deal. For me, being the kind of person who has only had sex with their spouse, I couldn't imagine the same total experience with a robot. Sure, I've masturbated, it's physically gratifying, but that's it. I'd imagine sex with a robot/android to be about the equivalent of very elaborate masturbation.

Now I am one to jump to conclusions so I can say with fair certainty that this OP is seriously thinking about aving sex with a robot. Given his initial condemnation of replies which is a give away that he feels that we don't understand him; this overly defensive knee jerk reaction only further supports my conclusion.

OP we have neither the technology nor the social acceptance for what I think you think you are going to do. Having sex with robots in this day and age will just be a painful experience that will require a tetanus shot.

*twitch*

I am aware we don't have the technology yet.
I'm hostile because everyone keeps assuming shit, thinking I'd have sex with one in this day and age.
Most replies have also been moronic, which I expected, but hoped wouldn't be.

I would love a robot but obviously not in this era, jackass. Probably not even in my lifetime.

Robot sex wouldn't be much different from using any other sex toy. As for robot love you could try reading Isaac Asimov's robot series which deals with it in one of the books (and sex as well).

By the way, the technical definition of an android is a robot designed to look and act like a human.
Agreed, Asimov has already explored this in great detail, as did Heinlein (with aliens) in Stranger From a Strange Land.
