American "Cheese"
I'm pretty sure they're called "American Singles" since they may not technically be allowed to call that...stuff...cheese by law. I know what you mean though...I really dislike that stuff...

Anyway: stuff I wouldn't eat...uh...Berut I think...the Cambodian street food which is essentially a fully-formed something inside of its egg. As for stuff I could feasibly come by and still absolutely refuse to eat...Stuffed peppers. I'm only just starting to tolerate bell peppers (a thing which absolutely ruins pizza) but I couldn't eat a meal where bell peppers are the basis of...that...meal.

Also Bananas. The flavor, consistency, texture...they just make me want to vomit.

I'm not that picky when it comes to food, unless it's bugs or Dates(fruit), but there's one particular item of food that I refuse to go near:

[HEADING=1]THIS UNHOLY ABOMINATION OF EVIL[/HEADING]

American "Cheese"

I rarely liked it when I was a kid, and pretty much despise it as an adult. There's just something to the taste of it that compares to some plastic-y byproduct. It's even worse when you heat it up, blah.

What kind of food/s you do not dare go near?
I can't have processed cheese, it will make me very ill.

The one food I despise of is haggis. I will not go near it or even try it.

Coffee, it smells good, but tastes terrible. Anyone who says it doesn't taste terrible is lying. And I know most people add creme and sugar to it, but saying something tastes okay after you add tons of creme and sugar isn't saying much at all. With some drinks, like tea, the sugar you add enhances the flavour already present. In coffee it's used to try and drown it out.

I'm convinced the only reason people think they like coffee is that they're addicted to caffeine and it's how they get their fix, so they learn to associate the taste with good feelings.
Coffee is delicious.
Proper coffee.
I take mine with a little bit of milk.

It's so warm and lovely.

Yeah, I gotta agree. That's pretty much the only cheese I won't eat.

I'm a rather picky eater to be honest. I'll try new things, but I don't like ordering things at restaurants I'm unsure of. Becomes a situation of doubt that I'll enjoy it and wind up wasting money.

Nothing, because I know what it feels like to be hungry, and being picky while millions around the world starve makes me feel like a dick. Grow up, food is one of the most precious resources you have. If you get all pissy because there is a mushroom in your salad than give it to someone who will eat it and starve.

Thank you dad, words of utter wisdom.

Bananas.

Ignore the shameful flavor. I can do without eating something that has a consistency that reminds me of a soft bowel movement.
Funny story: Having gone through childhood during the apex of WW2, when England's rationing came to an end and fresh exotic produce came back into the country, an American soldier offered my grandmother a banana. She'd never seen one before, and thought he was trying to poison her.

I'd be skeptical, but given that I understand why some people dislike beer, while I myself love the shit out of it, I can see where you're coming from.

Bitterness isn't always bad. :D

"Can't see the forest through the trees/
I make my living in American Cheese!"

But for me, it's fish. Any kind of fish I have had has lead to disaster. I almost always hate the taste of every kind of fish I've had and it seems my body denies that they are actually edible, as I get sick after eating any sort of fish, without fail.

Pretty much any seafood barring those traditional British battered fish like cod, haddock and plaice.

Also many vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and other such vegetables that your grandparents love. This also leads into anything made with these vegetables like coleslaw.

Other than that I'll eat pretty much any good food.

I can't stand kale chips. For those of you who don't know, it's dried and sometimes spiced kale leafs.

Oh and I hate coffee. I wish it tasted half as good as it smelled.

Crab and lobster. For some reason they make me vomit when I have more than a few bites. I think they taste terrible too but if I was starving I'd eat (and have eaten) anything regardless of taste.
But not crab or lobster since they make me toss anything thats in my stomach.

I don't like the taste of fish, mushrooms, lots of vegetables, some fruits and pork but if hungry I would eat them. I've gone without food several times in my life and it was not fun. The only time I'd refuse to eat something is if I know it will just make me sick to the point that not eating it would be preferable, even if I was starving. Crab and lobster does that to me so I will refuse to eat it even if I had nothing else.

Well-brewed coffee isn't necessarily bitter, much like beers have a pretty wide range of flavours. I think the problem a lot of people have with coffee is they buy Tim Hortons, or Starbucks or a cheap bag of grounds and assume its all the same. Kind of like drinking a Pabst and deciding everything from TNT to Guinness is crap.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with just deciding you don't like something and choosing not to have it. Which leads nicely into OT:

I'm never gonna eat escargot, end of story. Doesn't matter, I'm just not gonna do it.

On a slightly more reasonable note, I really can't stand brussels sprouts. Something about the texture and sort of grimy flavour reminds me of the head-flesh of lobster/crab which I similarly don't enjoy, although oddly I find the body-flesh perfectly fine. Excuse my vocabulary. Not much of a coin-oh-sour, so my word choice may not be up to snuff.

Mushrooms. Blech. Fungus should never be considered a foodstuff, and a gourmet foodstuff at that. What's next, petri dish bacteria a la carte?

I'm pretty good with most other stuff except a lot of seafood. For some reason I love mussels and absolutely hate oysters which seems to contradict the natural laws of the universe.

Does anyone not hate brussels sprouts? I always thought they were a punishment invented by mothers to impose on their children when they were bad. Seriously, they smell like you've just stuck your head in the garbage can.

Have you tried tasting a milkshake without the milk and sugar? Yeah.

But sugar in coffee is actually something that MAKES it bad. Unless it's iced coffee, in which case a little sugar is okay.

Canned Carrots. Only food that ever caused me to throw up from taste alone.

I'm game to at least try anything else. Unless it's genitalia or fetus.

Well, of the food that's considered normal around here... I hate mushrooms. They are so squishy and spongy, they smell bad. I never barfed after accidentally eating them, but I got a very weak feeling in my stomach and had to pause eating, maybe drink some water or something. Dunno why, maybe I had really bad mushrooms once and now even "normal" or "good" ones disgust me.

Sat here for a bit trying to think if there was anything I wouldn't actually try.
Closest I can get are oysters. They just look like snot. Still if pushed, I'd more than likely try them, just haven't had the compulsion to, just might turn out better than I think. Weirdest thing ever ate was sheep brain soup, and that turned out to be not so bad.

So yea, going with oysters....for now (thinking about what I could be missing out makes me almost want to try them now).
