I am an extremely picky eater, but there are foods that I adore that make others cry out in disgust. I've been wondering if there are foods (or food combinations) that you love that other people just don't understand, or vice versa.

For example, I love tunafish, but I can't stand mac and cheese.

I don't see the appeal of eating meat. I guess that's why I'm a vegetarian.

Also, I really dislike coriander and mint. I love chocolate. That stuff is all kinds of magical.

As an interesting aside, I have a raging omnivorous friend (he rags on me for being a vegetarian) and yet he doesn't like bacon. I don't understand that at all.

I like spam, which obviously isn't everyone's favorite :D
Also, while I love marzipan and amaretto, I can't stand standard almonds, like the ones in trail mix or on cake. Silly me :D

Fried maggots. Everyone says "ewwwww!!!" but they're pretty damn tasty.

Fry them in a some (olive) oil, sprinkle a little salt on top and presto; a snack that rivals regular salty crisps in taste and are a thousand times more healthy.

It's quite easy; bacon is often horribly salty and pretty fat.

I've been considering becoming a vegetarian for some time now, problem is, I LOVE meat. I could eat White Castle slider until my stomach explodes. So, it might be good if I did become a vegetarian.

Only problem is I have no idea how to start, very few people I know are vegetarian, I go to a college with a pathetic vegetarian menu, and have basically no money to do it myself.

Hopefully after college.

If you love meat that much, then just switch to better meat. I can't imagine White Castle is too good for you. For example, my family switched all beef over to bison. It's leaner and tastes even better. Also, turkey is another meat that makes a great beef substitute.

I love dipping potato chips in ketchup. Some people think it's gross (probably the saltiness of the chips) but I love it.

Good point.
However, my friend really doesn't care about the salt or fat content of his food. He gets McDonalds, Hungry Jacks etc, quite often. So it's odd when he orders a meal containing bacon, vacuums up everything on the plate but leaving a couple of bits of bacon on the side.

I live in Australia, so they're considered slightly odd by most people, and not too many of my friends like them, especially when they found out that they're basically just raw pickled fish (typically Herring).

Marmite. It's absolutely gorgeous. Yet all my friends think I'm a freak- I agree that too much of it is a bad thing, but spread thinly on thick white bread toast with a layer of butter... it's just top

Aside from delusions of eventual vegetarianism, I generally like most food I stumble across.

I can only think of two things I completely cannot stand: Pringles Chips and Shrimp. Pringles just have no flavor and I don't enjoy them, and something about how Shrimp tastes just does not appeal to me.
