Reason: I enjoy RD whenever she comes on screen, and she emulates my competitive/slightly narcissistic side pretty well. And that sonic rainboom made me go :O
But Twilight is a pretty magically adept/awesome pony, and her inquisitive/understanding/nerd side also emulates a big part of me.
How I got into it: Hmm, it's all a blur. Started with seeing something about "breaking out the pony images" in some March Mayhem thread, then escalated through avatars and piqued my interest enough for me to look it up on knowyourmeme. Everything after that is just history.
