I know its still more than a month away but I'm already sweating which system to get it for. Yes, I know I am a lucky prick to have this problem but I really think it will look better on PS3 but I like the controller so much better for the 360. (triggers are just so satisfying) Then there is the whole XBL vs PSN issue... arrrg.

I know the console thing has been FLOGGED in here but I am asking specifically for this game, no console flame wars please...

Good idea- Please only post if you are a two system mega-geek like me, in the interest of minimizing the fanboy flame war issue.

Why do people judge so much on looks? I played on cross platform games on both systems and never really saw any major visual differance between the two. If any I would go for the 360 because of the game range.

For me, it's going to be an XBox purchase, but then most games that appear on multiple consoles are. I prefer the XBox Controller by far, and pretty much all of my gamer friends have XBoxes. A few have PS3's as well, but for maximum multiplayer saturation, we buy XBox when we can.

Also, it might be wise, in the name of avoiding pointles flaming, to say something like, "Only people with both systems should comment." If you only have a PS3, of course that's what you'll buy it for, and it might keep the warring to a minimum.

Well, I don't own both consoles, but graphically I don't think there will be THAT much of a difference. So i suggest you should buy the one that will feel the best (ie controller) which makes a game much easier to learn and enjoy when your hand is comfortable.

I'm really disappointed that there's not gonna be any dismemberment in this game, what's the point of having a lightsaber if you can't cut stuff in half? (including people) The trees you see the apprentice throwing the lightsaber at isn't cut, it's smashed (also a disappointment). It's not like it would've been hard to do realistic slicing effects from lightsabers with the DMM physics engine they have.

But except for that, this game looks awesome and I'll definitely be buying it (for the 360) at the release.

360 for my preference as well. Controllers, achievements, and the possibility of Live downloads later on.

When I was first looking at this game, I was totally ready to throw in with Skalman, but since then I've had a change of heart.

Granted, this is taking place in the Star Wars Universe, or whatever, but after watching the gameplay videos a few times, I came to the conclusion that the fact that this is a Lucas project is really an item barely worthy of side-notice. If they gave me the same game, but instead of Storm Troopers I was fighting mercs, and instead of a lightsabre I had a stick, I'd still love it.

I plan to play this game as an excuse to go nuts with superpowers and completely ignore the Star Wars angle if it interferes with my enjoyment.

The PS3 and 360 versions are reported to be pratically the same game by Wookiepedia.

The PS2, Wii, and PSP versions supposedly have some extra or alternate content built into them though. PS2 rental might be worth it if the content rumor turns out to be true.

I'm stuck between PS3, Wii, and petitioning lucasarts for a PC version.

The differences between the PS3 and 360 will be small so if you like the controller better, then get that one...they can't be that different.

Might I suggest renting both versions and then deciding which one you like better?
Here in Dallas, it's about 9 dollars to rent one new game. Not really worth having to pay the extra 20 dollars (to then buy a 60 dollar game).

(maybe a demo will come soon)

why can't this come to PC? It might happen since Microsoft seems to try to maximise its sales by selling on the Xbox 360 and the Games For Windows brand. Though I have seen that if it has already come out on PS3 as well as 360 then it usually doesn't go to PC, especially considering this is looking like the most ported multiplatform game ever, being released on the PSP, DS, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360 and the PS3; that's SIX simultaneous releases, it could completely saturate the market with no possibility of a PC release giving any turnover.

But still, a modern PC with a Geforce 200 series GPU and quad core CPU streaming from a high speed hard drive (read game data at 300 MB/s vs 15MB/s) gives better performance than any other console out there and of course leaving the mod options.

Though I will probably go with the PSP version first, since I don't have a lot on my PSP though may just get the PS3 version as well if a PC release is confirmed as never coming. I'd be most interested in getting a post wii/ps2/ds/psp version as the 360/PS3 will include the much loved Euphoria engine (from GTA, oh yes!) and Pixelux's Digital Molecular Matter (DMM) that promises to do for destructible environments what GTA4 did for ragdoll and motion capture.

I think there will be a demo towards the end of the month. As far as which version I don't think it will matter for this game.

Are both your consoles hooked up to the same TV? At my house, I have them hooked up to separate televisions, so non-gaming housemates can watch TV if they want. However, I tend to get a little less time on the PS3, due to it's more central location. That's OK; when I do get time on the PS3, I get it in large chunks.

So if you want to spend a lot of time playing this game, maybe you want to play it in the less central location.

Personally, if I had both an Xbox and a PS3 (I have an Xbox) I'd get the cheaper one. Just cause I'm a tight arse and a broke one at that.

In the grand scheme of things, you'd be MUCH better off with a 360 at this point. period.

Not really, If you buy a 360 then you will always be behind this gen. Its a fact. The elite was the same price as the ps3 recently. The onlines free and the ps3 controller is more responsive even if Microsoft blatantly ripped off the ps controller it still feels so unresponsive to me. Add in the fact that the battery's cost so much and play and charge kit battery pack must be bought while your controller still gets wear and tear a ps3 controller is better overall. Also I like the ps3 triggers they don't take so much to push down.>.> Also it comes with a blu-ray and a easily replaceable HDD.. For pretty much the same price.

Also there will probably be less loading/Less frame rate issues with the ps3 version most likely. Or the developers will cock up and just try and port the game in a weeks time.
