I wouldn't die for a country just for the sake of it, but if these countries were invaded I would certainly defend them in any way I could - I'm British by the by. In order of importance;
The rest of the UK - I'm 'culturally' English, you could say, but my parents are Scottish and Irish, and if for example another civil war broke out on this island, I would be firmly on the side of the unionists.
France - because as much as we pretend to hate each other, France is the only country in the world that will always be there for us. Even when the USA/Canada/Australia (Our 'traditional' allies) ups and leaves us, France is still there. Plus, if anyone is gonna destroy France, it'll be the UK, and if anyone destroys the UK, it'll be France.
The Republic of Ireland - Because we really need an opportunity to prove we're not the evil Empire that rapes and pillages Ireland like the world sees us at, and I believe Ireland is culturally closer to us than our traditional 'Anglo-Saxon' allies.
The United States/The Commonwealth - Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United States have largely forgotten about Britain, especially in the last couple of years. But if we don't help them, we're no better than them. (And I apologise to my American/Canadian/Australian/Kiwi friends, this is more of a complaint against your governments than your people.)
Edit: Can I just add that I'll never understand why people from Norway/Sweden/Denmark have such love for Scotland/Ireland, we English are constantly being bashed for supposedly being 'Germanic'.
