A question, I know That Kurt can be played on songs other than Nirvana songs, can Johnny Cash? If so, then I feel far more offended that Johnny would be seen singing some of the crap they put on GH5 than Kurt.

OP: I kind of get the Nirvana band members point. It definitely feels weird and disrespectful to his memory to have him playing other less...him-ish songs. Sadly that is what happens when you sell the freaking rights to his image. There isn't much they can do but move on.

I suppose I see the hypocrisy in me being offended by Johnny singing those other songs and yet saying the Nirvana band members should get over it. You don't need to attack me for it. I've got it.

Haha, yea he was the drummer.
Oh right, I've only ever thought of him as being in the Foo Fighters. But then again I don't really like Nirvana so I wouldn't have known.
Don't forget "Queens of the Stone Age" too, he drummed for them for 1 album.

I find this totally stupid. She doesn't mind making piles of money with his music, but when they use him in a video game it's not respecfull? This should be somewhat of an honor it's not as if they put Kirt Cobain in a skirt and made his say "i am utterly gay and like raping little children"

Damn media whore...

This is my 2 cent

You guys are surprising me with your lack of intuitiveness.

Kurt Cobain was at heart, a punk rock star, he was outcast at school and felt isolated and detached from the mainstream. He played music he wrote because he enjoyed it, and was never comfortable with his media image as a popstar. The whole song "In Bloom" is about the fans that listen to his music without understanding the message. In the songs case, a redneck that likes "All our pretty songs" and "likes to sing along" and "likes to shoot his gun".

This is further seen in the liner notes of one of their albums which read something along the lines of 'if you are homophobic, racist, or sexist don't listen to our music or buy our albums'.

His band mates and best friends knew that better than anyone. Which is why they're so uncomfortable with his appearance in it.

(sorry for necro)
