In other news, Issac Asimov has started rolling in his grave. While wearing a new pair of Nikes.
Yeah, it was a screenplay for a movie that wasn't greenlit by FOX, so they took the script and modified it to reference Asimov.Vault101 said:actuall wasnt it just a screenplay? not an actual movie?Soviet Heavy said:Fun fact, the I Robot Film was adapted from an earlier failed movie called Hard Wired. The name was changed to I-Robot, with tangential links to the Asimov story thrown in in order to appeal to a bigger audience.

I intend to ***** and moan even if it's the single greatest cinematic work of our generation.emeraldrafael said:Its going to make big money but the fans will tears its guts out and ***** and moan.
Though one thing i never got (though I'll admit i faded ina nd out of the book) is why the robot is allowed to be a detective. But like i said, I faded in and out of the book and at this point I just simple could not care.
While it's been awhile, if I recall correctly, the Earth detective is called in to help solve the murder because the Spacer's (the rich people who use robots) haven't had an unsolvable murder in a long time. The robot is made his partner so there is a Spacer involved in the investigation. The reason they use a robot and not a human is because the separation of the Spacers from the Earth have made them extremely vulnerable to communicable diseases.emeraldrafael said:Its going to make big money but the fans will tears its guts out and ***** and moan.

Robots aren't illegal on Earth, there's just a high amount of animosity towards them. Since the robot in question is virtually indistinguishable from a human, that isn't much of a problem.
