"You know I'm really disappointed in Fox News, they're usually balanced and unbiased. They always get both sides of the story. I honestly did not expect this..."

Is what I would of said if we were in a backwards parallel universe.

what a bunch of one-sided idiots.

It's obvious they are trying to keep up the popular side of "video games are bad for the world because we hate fun, waaaah!" Perhaps what Infinity Ward was shooting for (no pun intended) was to show the evils of terrorism. I guarantee you, after seeing footage from the level, i felt a lot more aware about the terrorist situation, especially when all i'm getting for a perspective on it is crap like this.

If this entire charade isn't an attempt by fox to debase and devalue a piece of popular art through bias misinformation, then I'll eat my hat.

And this, my angry friend, is where the Fox News hate comes from, and why your own arguments (that everyone here is a moron who can't tie there own shoes because they fail to see that you are right because they are wrong because they haven't raised any good points to argue that you are wrong yada yada yada) are unfounded, simply because you missed the entire point! Instead of proving why this particular debate is NOT an example of underhanded, intentionally misinformed slander (which Fox seems to have developed quite a reputation for), you throw insults around to support your obviously circular logic.

Because your level of speech (as in you don't sound stupid) and your apparent intellect (despite your strangely childish arguments) Combined with your constant hate filled bashing of Escapists members, I deduce that you, sir, are a troll. I believe that you entered this argument with every intention of causing a ruckus, to make as many people as angry as possible. Or your a well spoken idiot. Either way, have you ever heard of /B/?

That is all. I will respond no further to this particular thread. My intention is not to start a flame war, only to make a point through a logical informed process. Have a good day.
LOL, this whole thing is typical of the "I don't have a leg to stand on" school of debate. When all else fails resort to baseless accusations and run away from the argument altogether.

A few points to correct before I forget this exchange ever occurred:

- FOX did not attack the game, it attacked the content. It did not go after the company but rather made a point to question the appropriateness of this game for children. The context of the violence, the rating of the game and the ultimate responsibility of the parents are irrelevant to the point FOX was trying to make. Is this game going to far? I personally think not, especially after playing it, but to call the out for simply asking the question is absurd.

- My very first response was to a poster who called anyone who watched FOX a retard. I think that statement is moronic, I posted the definition of moron I was referring to and I subsequently referred to such misinformed tripe as moronic. All anyone had to do to dispute that was present a valid point, it didn't happen. If you doubt that I suggest you re-scan the posts.

- For all of this talk about me missing the point, no one seems to be able to respond to the facts regarding the piece presented by FOX. The game is what it is, and is as such not intended for children, and at the very least should be monitored by the parents. To argue against this claiming the violence depicted is taken out of context is absurd. The point of the FOX piece was to get the parents asking questions so that they could decide on the appropriateness for themselves. I also find your assertion that the FOX piece is "mis-informed slander" equally ridiculous. Have you played the game? Is it not EXACTLY what they present it as? It's one thing if you are going to attack their wholesale linkage of teen violence to violent media, which BTW I made a point to address in earlier posts, but to say that their report on the content of the game was mis-informed or slanderous is preposterous. The feeble attempt by the guy from slashgamer to explain the context of the terrorist mission does not alter tha facts of the game. YOU CAN PLAY AS A TERRORIST. Being able to skip it, is irrelevant. Assume that gamers will not skip it, as that is just as likely as not playing the section. The question "Is this going to far" remains valid regardless which was all FOX was asking. The same thing that MSNBC asked in their review as well as any of the other game reviews. ALL valid questions. I wasn't calling people moronic for their defense of the game, but rather for their wholesale condemnation of FOX for no other reason than they were FOX and the opinion the presented was contradictory to the popular opinion of these boards.

- To call me a troll. And to be subsequently suspended from the boards is preposterous. If you or the moderators had even attempted to read what was written you would not find any "hate" whatsoever. I merely presented the facts of the piece, and my opinion of the article. I was insulted and I responded in kind, back up with far more fact that any of my detractors. And while I couldn't care less about the escapist or the idiots that post here, and yes I am now wholly convinced of their idiocy based on my re-reading the entire exchange, I cannot abide by the undeserved sense of entitlement that seems prevalent in society today. People who think they know what they are talking about because that is what everyone else is saying/doing. Read a book/blog/whatever. Do some research and make your own decisions. But please at least try to have some actually knowledge about a subject before you chime in, and at the very least be willing to give the opposing point of view a chance. If this article had simply been about FOX's incorrect assertion that violence in games is directly related to violence in teens, their could have been a civil debate, but when you start off saying that anyone who thinks FOX is news is retarded(yeah that was actually in the first post I quoted) you are bound to get some people like me who call you on your nonsense.
