i like keanu just fine, hes not my favorite but hes done some fine acting in some movies i like

but i wish this want happening

i wish that the only cowboy bebop was the one that already exists, because that one is very special to me, and i dont want it to be a part of something that isnt special

i like adaptations even, i think its fun to see people interpret the work of other people, but ive never seen one that meant as much to me as the original cowboy bebop

This one has been stuck in development hell for a while. I wouldn't bet money on it actually coming out in a while. And while we are still looking for a hypothetical Jet, Bruce Willis would do it well, though I'm not sure he would react well to being stuck in the number 2 spot. Alternatively, we could shave Liam Neeson's head.
And in one of those few moments when I actually approve this bizarre movement to stick Nathan Fillion in everything, he actually would not make a bad Spike. No advice for any other characters yet.

Back to the OT: I really need to watch the show again. I was about 6 when I first saw it and didn't understand shite. Maybe because I didn't understand English all that well or because the French dubbing was horrible like for most anime.

I love everything Keanu Reeves is in. I'm sure he'll make a great Spike. Who is gonna do Jet? Vin Diesel would make a good fit.

Vin Diesel just doesn't seem old and weathered enough to be Jet, plus he screams camp. I'm thinking Mickey Rourke.

OT: Terrible, terrible news. I agree, Cowboy Bebop would translate terribly into a live action movie...especially one starring Reeves, captain of boring, as Spike

I'm thinking the talents of the venerable Samuel Jackson would make a great Jet. He's got the voice for it, the stature, and he'd make a great grizzled older bounty hunter.

Yeah, I've heard this rumor for ages that he was in the pipeline for that part.

err, why does everyone think he's an actor again? Hell, he was terrible in The Day the Earth Stool Still, and he wasn't even supposed to have emotion in that film!

Hoping for someone ball-bustinfly awesome to play Jet Black, tho they'll probably get fucking Vin Diesel as a shitty mis-casting as well.
