Since recently being under fire, Fox CEO Roger Ailes has held that Fox's news reporting has good journalistic integrity while. Now I've seen my fair share of framed reporting and handy editing on Fox's news desk so I didn't give this much credence... until I saw THIS:

Watch the video and you will see the beginning and end of a live interview with the republican candidate for Governor of New Jersey. After which, Shep Smith asks her plainly "when are you going to interview the democratic candidate?" to which she gives a poorly worded reply, basically saying she won't be interviewing him.
Then Shep did something I've never, ever, ever ever ever seen on Fox News.
HE APOLOGIZED FOR NOT BEING BALANCED
Escapists, I am freaking out. I'm having a bad trip and I'm coming down hard, having horrific hallucinations. EA pulled off a direct marketing gimmick that was not only in good taste but was actually quite hilarious? Fox News is trying to be fair and balanced (or at least to appear so)? I really hope this isn't some kind of fucked up fever dream, because I also found out today I'm graduating college and I get to see the Misfits live in town tonight. Don't tell me now that none of it's real!
tl;dr - Fox News apologized to viewers for a lack of balance in its reporting. Discuss how this relates to your preconceived notions of Fox News as a source of serious journalism.
