So, I was typing an essay on my laptop, sitting in the living room, when my dad turned on Fox News then left to get the mail. The nice people over at Fox News were discussing the English riots. I started to listen to their discussion on the subject, because I havent been following it at all and I descided to share what I could gather from what they were saying.
It seemed like they were saying that the riots were caused by wellfare. They were saying that there's a big population in England of two parent families (and other kinds of families too) who haven't worked a day in 15 years, because they were able to live of wellfare. And the kids growing up on wellfare developed an entitled attitude, that they were entitled to stuff. Now that the wellfare is drying up (I have no idea what your guy's wellfare status is, just saying) those same kids are taking to the streets to take what they feel entitled to.
Is there any truth to that at all?
Please dont just say that the people at Fox News are crazy, its a discussion killer.
And please dont shoot the messanger, Im only sharing what I heard.

No.

No truth in it.

Fact is that the riots were just because the pricks were looking for a reason to act like pricks. There was no reason, no political agenda.

There is a shred of truth in that actually. But as always Fox likes to try and simplify complex issues into one thing. There are a whole host of reasons for the riots, and there are a lot of families living off the state. There is also a problem with the police, in what they can and can't do, and the youth are branded as scum, gangsters and criminals and this has bred a belief that they aren't going to be believed to be anything else so they might as well become criminals.
Add to that the tension caused by massive cuts to various important services in society and people are going to snap at some point. But like I said, it's complicated and not just down to gangs, like the government is claiming, or jobless spongers, like Fox is claiming.

Isn't Fox American?

I think they should report the news without wearing trouser, it's kind of hard to understand what they say while they talk out of their arse.

It is debatable, the rioters are using the Excuse, and it is that. An EXCUSE. That a man was shot dead by a police officer before the riots, and he just happened to be Black.
This (according to looters) was because of racism, even though the man who was killed was a weapon wielding, drug-dealer.

Hence they rioted.

When in fact, what most people who are outside the rioters 2 brain cell thinking capacity understands that this is a disgraceful act of hooliganism, vandalism and shows just how little authority the police have over the UK's streets.

In some ways I wouldn't doubt the claim that FOX news made, it seems reasonable, but mostly this is down to having an astonishing amount of people with low IQ, draining our taxes and then smashing the place up. Great...and they have the Olympics next year?

It's a direct attack against Welfare policies in the USA, not against the UK.
It's a disguised attempt to form the conotation of Welfare=Causes Harm. The reason behind the riots are just the sub-culture there, which developed an attitude that they can do whatever they want without consequences because the police force are a bunch of pussies. Yes, human rights.
But could you take just a shred of cruelty from the 80s coal miners strikes and give it to the modern day police so that the police would be a wee bit more intimidating?

If Fox ever report on a story in the manner of a legitimate news network and not a platform for right-wing propaganda, then perhaps we'll be willing to treat them with some modicum of authenticity. Until that day comes, Fox News is kind of like the recalcitrant 5 year old banging his head against the wall for our attention. It's not going to elicit anything more than a disparaging sigh and they're only serving hurt themselves in the process.

As always fox news hears a subject and then puts a spin on it to suit what they have been saying.I can see two things fox news want to tell the american population welfare is bad for the usa because it turns people into entitled crazy people and (look the British welfare is drying up that is total bullshit the problem is its abused by lazy people) and ignore the major debt america is in.

To be honest the picture is not great for us thou the government wants to keep cutting from the public sector as it is easier than taking cuts themselves. But then when a protest turned riot kicked off there was a quick enough responce to stop it.Then all these idoits noticed all these shops being broken into and thinking awesome free stuff lets start looting.

Then because the police were to strected to stop them they start just wrecking everything

Yeah I get that Fox doesnt even try. I said that so the second post wouldnt say "Fox is crazy" then every post after it would quote it and just say "that".

But the thing is there's actually many people in America that listen to that recalcitrant 5 year old, and will believe anything he says.

Other types I've seen running riot in every piece of footage, are lower class immigrants. I don't know how far that is in the UK, but when those run riot in the Netherlands, Sweden or France, there's a component of racism in it. They feel not part of society, so they start to detach themselves from it and hate it. It's easy to justify running riot if the society you're destroying is 'the enemy'. Another bunch were the typical extreme-left fascist groups, AFA, International Socialists and such, recognizable by black uniforms and Arafat-style scarfs. Now those run amok on a professional basis. They hardly do anything else, looking at society from their extremist views, and thus don't need a reason.
There were more immigrants having their homes and livelihoods destroyed than actually taking part.
I think that 'not feeling part of society' is a really big part of it. The government keeps going on about these criminals "destroying and looting from their own communities" but these people don't feel part of these communities and don't feel any remorse for destroying them.
I think that the government really needs to look at why these people feel alienated enough from the 'big society' they kept harping on about, to burn down people's homes.

Fox doesn't beleive in truth. There sole objective is to make sure communist ideas likes "helping people who have suffered a lost or misfortune" don't get a hold in their capitalist "you only deserve to be happy if you have money" ideolidy

Well in reality they are the mouthpiece of Rupert Murdoch, an Australian with his thumbs in many people's pies.

Spoken like someone doesn't know anyone who's ever needed the help of said benefits. In the end however, such entitlements are for your benefit. So long as they persist they will keep those at the bottom of society from losing all hope in that society. And accordingly, your head off a pike.
