Fallout, such a wealth of back story creates a world which I had envisaged for years before I ever heard of the series, it's like a spawn of my mind and i love it to death
You would probably like Dragon Age then...

Star Wars and Halo

not a nerd or a fanboy but mine are Star Wars and Halo. with all the new crap star wars has been making i think back and remember that the original trilogy are still 3 of the best movie ever. And while everybody plays COD and stuff, the halo trilogy with Halo 3 ODST was one of the best shooters. nowadays everybody says it's bad because it isn't as realistic as COD but

i don't like realism.

isn't that why people are playing video games and watching movies?

Pokemon would be one, as long as they don't completely destroy the battle system in generation 5.

The Mario RPG would be my other one, as long as you don't count Super Paper Mario. The rest of the games where all fantastic.
Do you count paper mario 1&2?
Of course. In fact, I would consider the second Paper Mario the pinnacle of the series so far.

Tell me, how did Super Paper Mario not stand up to the rest of them? I thought it was a superb game.
To me, it wasn't a Mario RPG. It was another platformer. I'm not saying it isn't a good game, I'm saying that it should not be included in the "Mario RPG" label. It was too different in gameplay to be included.
The mario RPG was my favorite game series, 2 being perhaps on my top 5 games of all time, Super Mario RPG left a bad taste in my mouth because I thought it would be a much-needed triquel to the series, and got a pre-order of it, unfortunatly it turned out to be...well Super paper mario. I was sad.

There is none. There are franchises I like a lot but there is no franchise that can?t be ruined. In fact of my favorite franchises from last gen, the only one that seems to still hold up (though it only makes slight improvements in every iteration) is Katamari. GTA4 was a big disappointment when compared to San Andreas or even gta3. Burnout Paradise seems to have taken a nosedive too since they took out crash junctions; now it?s like every other driving game.
My favorite from this gen is Fallout 3, but I have no doubt that there?s a possibility that New Vegas will be total crap; I?m still pre-ordering the Collectors Edition.
Nobody/nothing is perfect.

Freelancer but it isn't a series.

I used to defend Pokemon in such a manner but the current direction in monster design isn't impressing me.
Freelancer continues the canon of Starlancer, a similar game without the trading and more like a sci-fi action flight simulator (Fuck, I love that game). So I guess it sort of is a series. If you haven't played Starlancer, then do because it's pretty good.
Hmm, I'll have to look into that then. I like space :D

Zelda.

Shut up, each game is NOT just a copy paste of the previous one with different graphics. *sob*
No, just Twilight Princess :p

Seriously though, I love that series, but Twilight Princess just honestly felt like a remix of Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past

OT; Metal Gear Solid

Don't you dare say something bad about it. It is well written, the stealth does work and Raiden is not a fag!

I hate to say the Elder Scrolls. It just feels like I'm insulting someone... Because I'm 15, I've only played Morrowind and Oblivion, both of which I loved. But purely because I cannot find them I haven't played Daggerfall or Arena. It's depressing that my favourite game 'series' is one of the only game series' that I've never played from the start.

Baldur's Gate is really the only one for me. I'll defend Shin Megami Tensei and Touhou too, but games are still being made in those series and there is always a slight chance that they might not be good.
