In response to the people who think that no series should be killed as long as some people are having fun with it, I say some series needs to die so that the people that play them can be exposed to other games, for their own good. For example, Call of Duty needs to die so that casuals can realize that there are other, much better games on the market that offer the same experience.
Also there is this thing called "economic competition", which no one seems to grasp. If crappy games like Call of Duty keep making the rediculous amounts of money that they are, eventually the good game studios will either go out of business because they can't really compete, or sell out because they want rake in some cash from the more simple-minded gamers.
